Pros
Depends on your co-workers and who your manager is that create the experience. But it's a good opportunity to meet different personalities and people around the same age as me (early 20's). Benefits seem ok, scheduling is flexible if your store is fully staffed.
Cons
Haven't been here long enough to observe anything particularly negative. But with a retail position, the main downfall is dealing with upset/ignorant customers. It is a sales-oriented environment so unless that's not something you're interested in, working here will be far from fulfilling.
Pros
Good benefits
Nice place to work
Cons
Hard to get promotion
Little training
Advice to Senior Management
be more fair maybe...
Pros
good pay, good management, fun to work
Cons
All depends on location and mangers
Advice to Senior Management
To be more proactive
Pros
Innovative Company and Industry Leader. Offer very good employee benefits. Great opportunities for professional growth if based in Toronto.
Cons
Very little consideration for the "regions": Toronto-centric decisions - belly-button gazing mentality and Cookie-cutter strategies : what works insome regions will not necessarily work everywhere and it's frustrating when these become "mandatories". Too many "micro-managers" in senior management.
Advice to Senior Management
The competition has gained up on you and you need to focus more on CSAT & ESAT by starting to give more power to the regions! We keep hearing about it but nothing concrete! Very big, impersonal company - employees definitely feel like numbers. Way too many approvals required which slow down processes and simply not time & cost efficient.
Pros
- Good employee discount (50% off everything)
- Benefits / stock plan / pension (optional)
- Fun environment
- Great location
- Your colleagues are stars
- They pay well
Cons
- Rogers management sucks. They promote people into leadership positions who completely lack management experience
- It is the least innovative company but position themselves as a leader in this
- SO much bureaucracy and in-fighting at the VP level that it is so hard to get programs through
- A lot of people leave the company because they can't get ahead. Promotions are irrational
Advice to Senior Management
- Stop managing by intimidation
- End your VP infighting
- Understand that job satisfaction is tied to getting things done
- Rogers is very arrogant
Pros
Good career development
Great Benefits and Employee stock option plan
Opportunities to make a difference
Experienced Senior Managers to lead the organization
Cons
Not many downsides at Rogers Wireless
Not many opportunities to travel
Can't work from home
Long hours often including weekends
Advice to Senior Management
Look for opportunities outside of Canada
Outsource call center jobs to reduce costs
Improve IT process to reduce costs and improve delivery
Pros
The people I work with are very nice and down to earth people. I looked forward to coming to work to see my co-workers, however we had very little time to chat b/c we would need to take call after call
Cons
They were fairly steady at one point with their policies with employees and with offers towards the customers and what we can offer them. However after Ted Rogers passed away, whoever is running the place now is changing everything so rapidly it's hard to give proper customer service. Plus the changes make customers very upset, and we are the ones to have to deal with their complaints. Although most of us fully agree with the customer, we'd still have to be a positive representative for the company. They also send people out on the floor without proper training. I'm pretty sure more than half of the calls I would take are for correcting mistakes that improperly trained employees would make
Advice to Senior Management
Please stay more consistent and don't change policies so constantly
Pros
-a chance to meet some fantastic and fun people
- relatively spacious and comfortable working environment
- some very good managers who listen and care about the employees
Cons
- relatively lower starting wage comparing to competitors
- not enough manager support on the floor if there are questions
- no retribution for employees who have constantly broken the rules to make sales due to manager protecting these certain employees
- old system that often lags and faulty
- many agents are not trained well enough and therefore constantly make many costly mistakes on customer's accounts, resulting in more work for others to clean up the mess
-the information system ( aka library) is not as clear and precise as one would like
Advice to Senior Management
see cons, there are some major improvements that need to be made in order for the workplace to be more attractive and have less turnover rate
Pros
Good product compared to competitors, and decent network overall but weak in rural areas. Comp is average to other carriers.
Cons
No base pay with some of the dealer, strictly compensation based and minimum amount of activations required in order to see any pay.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus more on training sales team to dig deeper, sell more on value as opposed to price and hardware. Differentiate yourself from the others.
Pros
Colleagues and peers work professionally
employer is an equal opprotunity provider
good training ground for junior employees
Cons
they dont seem to have programs for work-life balance, atleast for the banch office in Calgary
Advice to Senior Management
