Run Away

Sales (Former Employee)
Alpharetta, GA

I worked at Rolta India full-time for more than a year

ProsLots of cash from India

ConsToo many cons to list. No direction, 80%+ consultants are contractors, no support from management. It goes on and on. Take a job here only if you are desperate.

Advice to Senior ManagementDefine who you are - or what you want to be. Get a message together. Focus on something instead if trying to be everything to everyone.

Too many chiefs and no vision

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Chicago, IL

I have been working at Rolta India

Pros- Pockets of strong delivery talent (but overall weak)
- Talented people in industry groups (Financial Services, Oil & Gas)
- Good ideas in marketing (but little execution)
- Handful of good, name brand clients

Cons- No leadership...zero...nada...no one makes decisions and no one is in charge
- Sales people are all staff aug type...all but one or two actually do harm.
- No vision...where are we going? What are we selling? Even if sales was good impossible to do effective sales and marketing with no vision
- India has too much control

Advice to Senior Management- Define a vision
- Make decisions
- Keep your talented people (let them do what they are good at)
- Shed your non-performers

ProsFantastic training; patient management; interesting work; located in beautiful Alpharetta, GA; Lots of help to get you up to speed as a new GIS Technician.

Executive Manager

Executive Manager (Current Employee)
Mumbai (India)

I have been working at Rolta India full-time for more than a year

ProsGood pay, lots of leisure time, no over time work

ConsLack of focus from the management, Too many Ex-Defence officers at decision making capacity with no corporate work knowledge, surprisingly some of them are first time MS office users :(. No product and project management experience. They throw stones everywhere and one of them will luckily hit.

Advice to Senior ManagementStay focussed, hire top notch talent, avoid Ex defence recruitment and implement better HR policies.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Poor Technical Management - Going Downhill

Divisional Director (Current Employee)
Mumbai (India)

I have been working at Rolta India full-time for more than 3 years

ProsExciting customers - Defense, Public Safety, BFSI, Federal agencies
Exciting Technologies - The very latest (Hana, Vertica, Big Data, Spring etc)
Great Technical Team - mine

ConsPathetic President / CTO - He lies to his sub ordinates! No technical knowledge but a lot of "I am a Greate Leader" speeches
Pathetic HR - they miss-treat employees!
Stupid Rules & Policies that are completely opaque and are mentioned once the problem has happened!
Some of the worst senior management personnel I have ever had the miss-fortune to work with in a 18+ years of experience.

Advice to Senior ManagementKick the "no-clue" senior management out of the company. They don't know what they are doing, don't want to learn and only use the latest buzzwords in every conversation.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
