Claremont, CA

Current Employee – been working at Rose Institute

ProsCompetitive pay, do real-world work as an undergraduate, redistricting website is the premier site in the country and you can work on it as a freshman.

ConsFirst research assignment (Kosmont Cost of Doing Business Survey) is boring, must work on slow, old computers, few people to work with.

Advice to Senior ManagementLeadership, in general, is very solid. The senior staff could be more visible but the student managers are obviously capable.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Former Employee – worked at Rose Institute full-time for less than a year

ProsFlexible hours; knowledgeable senior staff; intellectual but results-oriented environment; After three months of work, I thought i was relatively well versed in firm procedures.

ConsWork can sometimes be monotonous; getting stuck on a bad project can be painful. Though most of the assignments are cool and interesting, some are downright painful.

Advice to Senior ManagementCommunication is king. Tell your staff what you want.
