I have been working at Ross Stores (More than a year)

    Pros

Ability to grow Decent employee discount, with double discounts a few times a year

    Cons

Schedule dependent on the least flexible people Can only work max of 25 hours Consistently get stuck in the fitting room if you're the "only one trained" for it

    Advice to Management

Rotate shifts more often, don't make employees stand for 4-8 hours in a tiny box. Encourage flexibility by allowing those who are more flexible to have more hours rather than focusing on "fairness" of giving all employees the same amount of hours.

I worked at Ross Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

if you are a hard working manager, then satisfaction of job completion each day. If not, then see cons. rewarded PT associates for multiple awards monthly

    Cons

must be hands on manager on everything. long hours. no life balance. nasty customers and lots of turnover with your team 75% +.

    Advice to Management

Put more effort into training for the stores. District managers and other support managers should actually help the stores. Not just go in and tell them what they are doing wrong

    Pros

You will be a cashier, and will mainly stand on your feet the whole day taking returns and transactions. The job is pretty easy basic customer service, and the 20% discount is good.

    Cons

You never leave at the scheduled time because you have to clean up all your hangers and proccess returns. Also pay is just minimum wage. Hours given each week vary.

    Advice to Management

Schedule enough people to work at a time to prevent long lines.

Payroll cuts, screw us over. They bring you in with 25 hours a week which is bull. You get lucky if you see 18 hours.

    Advice to Management

Instead of trying to open new stores take care of the employees that already work for you.
