    Pros

    - Not as busy other retail stores - For the most part it's pretty easy - Mostly everyone seems like nice and helpful folk

    Cons

    - They rush training - You're lekly not to get many hours of work, though I'm only part time so I can't say the same for full time

    Advice to Management

Perhaps keep things such as products more organized in store but besides that though no other real complaints

I have been working at Ross Stores full-time

    Pros

It is a great company to work for. Ross offers great benefits, vacation, 3 paid personal holiday, 6 paid holidays, and really wants there managers to have a work life balance.

    Cons

Limited room for growth in the Colorado market. Select stores have a rough clientele base, which make it challenging to provide a clean shopping experience. Late hours.

    Advice to Management

Good company to work for. If you are open to relocation there is tons of room for advancement in other markets.

    Pros

Awesome perks, employee discounts combined with sales, on top of the already marked down prices, you can get department store merchandise for mere dollars!

    Cons

On the flip side, hourly wages do not cover experience, time put forth on the job as well as dedication.

    Advice to Management

To the upper management, as in district; hire more employees. And increase payroll. It is hard to run a store when there are not enough employees to cover all the positions.

I have been working at Ross Stores (More than a year)

    Pros

Discounts, flexible hours, friendly associates, some ability to advance up

    Cons

Late work hours, never always fully staffed, payroll can be strict at times leaving part timers with less than 20 hours a week

    Advice to Management

For corporate to set decent store hours for a retail store, close on holidays and increase pay for all not just associates when equalling minimum wage

I have been working at Ross Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is a lot of room for advancement. The company heavily promotes from within.

    Cons

Extremely stingy pay. It's having a huge impact on employee retention. There is a culture of secrecy that makes working more difficult than it has to be.

    Advice to Management

    At least match competitor salaries.

I worked at Ross Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Always hiring Fun environment to work at 10% discount is always a plus Develop awesome relationships with customers Trendy merchandised Never bored

    Cons

Opening early , closing late Constantly picking up items customers drop Minimum wage Decrease in hours for part time workers Timed cashier transactions

    Advice to Management

I wish the higher up team had the consideration in highering our pay . It seems like the only way someone's pay is increased is if they were there for 5 plus years . Climbing the ladder shouldn't be as difficult as it is right now at Ross.

I worked at Ross Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Learn how to run an extremely busy location ( specific to my store not company as a whole)

    Cons

Business model is created to run a store up to a cretin sales amount but is not applicable to stores that more than triple that sales number therefore the goals are not able to be transferred verbatim it needs to re evaluated for the stores that are so far from the model numbers to be fair since those metrics are used to determine bonus numbers.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees and appreciate when people go above and beyond for the team. and learn to be honest and not talk behind peoples back people hear things and lose trust for the leaders.
