I have been working at Rotana Hotel Management

    Pros

Human resources team are doing a great job, been able to provide departmental growth, through constantly training and keeping them updated with what's happening around the company and their office is always open to hear ur opinion or make suggestions.2. The working environment is very conducive for staff and guest. 3. More especially the staff welfare and housing provided meets standard, I can gladly say.

    Cons

The bilingual differences, most times u find it difficult to understand a colleague due their inability to speak proper English or understand it, cos most of the staff are from Asian part of the world,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They should review salary rate as it's efficient compared to the service delivery. And make proper decision when employing staff,

I have been working at Rotana Hotel Management as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Some of the pros for Rotana are - All managers and directors are very co-operative with new ideas. The Colleagues are very friendly but at the same time professional. The monthly and quarterly trainings given are very helpful for the staff to be kept up to date with company, property and their job responsibilities.

    Cons

The few Cons of Rotana are- The Salaries given to the employees are lower than other hotels. There are time when the stress from work can overpower a person. Communication between two departments are not very professional and in between a lot of important information can slip.

I worked at Rotana Hotel Management

    Pros

nothing special , except they have a lot of properties in UAE and region , so if you know someone in other property you have a chance to move

    Cons

low pay , horrible accommodation , treating staff based on relations and nationalities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

promote people based in the skills not passports , and please get a better accommodation , they are hospitality personnel not construction laborers

I have been working at Rotana Hotel Management full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of trainings that can truly helped you grow in your career. Career growth is also fast as it is a big chain of hotels and colleagues are able to transfer from one property to another.

    Cons

Since the hotel is quite busy and full chances are employees had to extend hours. It is quite a challenge for the employees working in housekeeping, front office and food and beverage when the occupancy is busy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go down to the rank and file, talk to them and get to know them not only once in a while but more often. If you can also dine with them in the colleague outlet would be much much more appreciated.

I worked at Rotana Hotel Management full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Famous brand in Middle East, good career opportunities.
    Competitive salaries and benefits.
Lots of training within the company, almost all SOPs are ready so it gives employee guidance at daily work.

    Cons

Young company, lack of brand standards in some areas, lack of consistency.
Work atmosphere and sr.management attitude towards employees varies from property to property depending on particular GM.
Company saves on staff duty meals so quality is poor, also accommodation is of low standards compared to main international chain hotels.
Some managers and departments heads are not mature and skilled enough for their positions.
Loads of favoritism - its very easy to make career for Lebanese people. Some unacceptable employees still remain in the company because they are being liked by some sr.managers, kind of double standards...
Tend to keep all sections understaffed which causes existing staff to overwork and handle too much pressure.
Company doesn't pay for any training courses outside the hotel like some international chains.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve accommodation and duty meals, invest more money into staff trainings outside the hotels, don't keep most of departments understaffed. Head office in Abu Dhabi should pay more attention to signals about inappropriate behavior with the employees from particular hotel top managers...
