Pros
Cross training was excellent, co-workers were the best
Cons
Unprofessional management at the time of employment
Advice to Senior Management
Be courteous and honest to your team and this will help you get ahead.
Pros
PTO is fair, if you can manage to take it
Cons
No raises with an actual pay cut in many years. No thanks no bonuses no respect. very unhappy very overworked employees with no training. new hires are based on how little money they will accept. no regard for experience or knowledge. no regard for hazardous road conditions.
Advice to Senior Management
realize that hiring a well educated, experienced person is worth 3 that are not. Praise employees and give raises! Since it's all about the money, healthcare should not be involved!
Pros
The paid time off is competitive. They have centers all over the United States so there is the possibiity of a transfer available.
Cons
Have never received a raise in pay in 4 years despite a very good job performance. Paperwork compared to othe DME's is very extensive. Outdated, broken equipment to provide to patients. Poor employee morale. No incentive to "go the extra mile" since neither good nor bad performance is recognised.
Advice to Senior Management
Notice the hard working people who actually do care about the patientsand reward them
Pros
It's a fast pace environment and be ready to come to work.
Cons
Not enough training for new employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Increase qtr bonus for customer service and patient service technician. Also for location managers.
Pros
It is very rewarding to be able to help people with their healthcare needs. There are some great people working in this company.
Cons
The feedback from management about job performance could be better. The pay is on the low side of average for this job.
Advice to Senior Management
There needs to be more consistency in job performance feedback. The pay scale should be more competetive. Management should be more involved with their employees, and more accessible.
Pros
working with public ample days off
Cons
company in financial trouble not replacing trucks as soon as necessary
Pros
The PTO is great at Rotech.
Cons
The lab fee's that I have to pay is way to high. It is 60%. I'm afraid to find out how much I would have to pay for other services rendered. It does pay well for prescriptions that I have to pay.
Advice to Senior Management
5% of my pay was taken during the recession in 2008 and it would be nice to get it back. We also didn't get any pay raises this year. How do you expect us to care about patient care when you don't care about employee care. I not only care about my patients but I love them and we should be compensated for our hard work.
Pros
The work itself can be very rewarding. I enjoy serving my patients in the cummunity. It is usually easy to get time off when needed even if it's short notice.
Cons
We're almost always understaffed because the compensation plan sucks and it is ultimately a dead end job unless you are willing to relocate and promote to manager (which, from what I've seen, isn't really worth it). I'm always working forced overtime just to manage the daily work load, much less anything extra that comes in during the day. Employees in my position do all of the leg work, we are the face of the company because we are the ones who see the patients and attend to their needs, yet corporate views us as expendable and easily replaceable and does not listen to our feedback at all. Because of this, our position is a revolving door and our patients never get consistent care and much of the time they don't get reliable care because you get people who are just there to collect the measly paycheck every two weeks and don't really care about the paitents at all. In short, I feel if we were treated a little better as employees, that would translate to better care for the patients and isn't that really the bottom line? Or is it? Do they really "care about patient care" or is that just another gimmik catch phrase?
Advice to Senior Management
Stop treating your service techs like dirt and I predict you'll see a much higher patient retention rate because your patients will have longer term drivers they know they can trust to attend to their needs. Constantly training new people costs you a butt load of money you could be using to give raises to the ones you're interested in keeping around a while. I've been here almost 2 years and watched seven drivers come and go. We've had patients go elsewhere because of this. When you have good people who are doing there jobs well, make it worth their while not to look elsewhere for work. I can't continue to support my family on my wages and I'm constantly working overtime which takes me away from my family. Even with the overtime my check is a joke. I've been told I'm doing good work for you, yet there's no motivation for me to stay if I find something better. I'm betting this won't be read or it will be read and disregarded because I'm just a lowly peon who doesn't know jack from squat, but if you really do "care about patient care" you might want to start putting some stock into what the people who visit your patients every day are telling you.
Pros
Benefits are good. Money is ok.
Cons
Tooooo many reports due all the time. This does not allow sufficient enough time to sale.
Advice to Senior Management
Let your reps bring in the business and stay out of their way.
Pros
Diverse product base - allows you to learn about many different products
Opportunity to interact with patients
Not a bad benefit package
Cons
Being on call
Terribly run company from the top
Every location is grossly understaffed
No room for independent thinking or ideas
Advice to Senior Management
Lighten load on area managers
Offer compensation to on call employees
Improve new hire training
Less time spent on pointless conference calls
