    Pros

Great benefits. Great staff. Everyone cares, everyone works hard. Great community, everyone gets to know each other. HCA is a great company and so is St. Davids.

    Cons

Seton pays a little more it seems like. But St. Davids has so many extra perks and benefits.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

    Pros

Lots of support and learning opportunities. The Director here really pushes you to be the best of the best. The doctors are pleasant to work with. You can hear and see teamwork everywhere. Everyone is always willing to help out.

    Cons

Austin has the lowest pay for nurses.
6:1 ratio patients are sometimes a struggle especially when you start with 6 at the beginning of the shift.

  3. Pleasant but boring and static work place

I worked at Round Rock Medical Center as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly staff, slow paced work environment

    Cons

The hospital seems to have plateaued in growth and development. New research, ideas and knowledge were not appreciated, easily accepted or even opened for discussion. Stuck in their ways.

    Advice to Management

Keep up to date with research and encourage your employees to continue growing in their careers and specialties.

    Pros

Nice hospital as far as cleanliness, good cafeteria food, nice chapel, and nice gift shop

    Cons

Inadequate staffing which jeopardizes patient health, low wages for RN's, unequal treatment of staff, non-supportive working environment, and putting quality care after profit.

    Advice to Management

Hire more nurses, allow and support nurse advancement, hire more CNAs

    Pros

Good Benefits, retirement and vacation time.

    Cons

Management is disorganized and does not delegate responsibilities fairly among employees.

    Advice to Management

Work in the kitchen with your employees! Listen to their concerns and help fix the high turnover and dissatisfaction!

    Pros

Talented nursing staff, many of whom understood and enacted the concept of "team" to support one another.

    Cons

Favoritism. Nurses with an agenda singled out other nurses not in their "clique"; Supervisor sided with the loudest (unprofessional) voice, "correcting" behavior without facts/background and slighting accused parties afterwards. Ineffective management.

    Pros

Good job but pay is very low for what they ask you to do. Very interesting place to work and good guys to work with.

    Cons

Low pay and a lot of responsibility

    Advice to Management

Pay your team leads better. Do more peer evaluations and work harder to traine new employees. But over all ya'll are doing a good job.

    Pros

Great coworkers and staff! Floor nurses are willing to help each other out. Charge nurses are often working on the floor to help out staff.

    Cons

Nurse manager and DON could be more helpful, supportive, and positive. Stronger immediate leadership would be appreciated and respected by all.

    Advice to Management

Stronger leadership from nurse manager and DON. We need to see more positivity, receive more feedback on our performance, and feel that leadership is not out of touch with their floor staff and workload.
