Pros
it;s a one rule fits all in the company and upholds industary to a high level
Cons
The long months away from home which should be reviewed to a shorter contract for CM willing to pay fully for their airfare return.
Advice to Senior Management
Please be willing to understand CM should they act a certain way because they may sometimes have problems which they need support even if it's someone to talk to and not only look at it as a Zero tollerance rule.
Pros
The company provides an opportunity to travel the world.
Cons
The position I was in never allowed the time off requested. Instead would give you only some of the days requested off to pressure you not to take any vacation time.
Pros
Friendly and competent individuals that will work together as a close knit team to deliver solutions
Open environment to share and bounce ideas and opportunity to take lead on initiatives
Cons
Outdated technology and bloated enterprise software.
Lack of test cases and no code review process
Pros
Great Product
Great benefits
Great exposure to all facets of cruising business
Cons
HR is one sided. Does not support employees
Let good talent go.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize your good talent and try to keep them no matter what. Alot of time is wasted having and goals take years to be met because valuable information leaves with good talent.
Pros
Cruises. Location is nice. Gym, day care, and cafateria onsite. Offices are kept nicely
Cons
Salaries are VERY low, raises even worse. Too many prima donas. bad behaviour and poor performace are tolerated.
Advice to Senior Management
They won't listen so why bother
Pros
One of few big corporate headquarters left in Miami
Cons
very political...it's who you know
Pros
Cruise benefits are nice. Really good location in Dtown Miami. There are many different things that are "possible to learn, allbeit, you might not be allowed to venture into them
Cons
Training is poor. Everything is kind of disorganized, or maybe it was just my boss. Things need to be assessed and looked into more heavily to notice employee strengths. Dont be so cookie cutter.
Advice to Senior Management
A quote that I read a while ago...it goes somewhat like this
A CFO says to a CEO "What happens if we put money into training the employees and they leave. CEO says 'What happens if we dont and they stay..."
Pros
The industry is growing. The company is great and has strategic focus.
Cons
Normal like a big companies, small room to grow.
Advice to Senior Management
Prepare more career path for tech people.
Pros
It's a comfortable environment. Not cut-throat at all. You can cruise very inexpensively.
Cons
Very political. They don't like to hire from within. They'd rather hire from outside for high paying positions. Not a good work-life balance for most employees. Many employees stay until 10PM, work from home on weekends and constantly get emails from Senior Management asking them to respond after work hours.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer departmental reviews. Find out how your leadership team is leading their departments in anonymous surveys. You might be stunned.
Pros
Great industry to work in.
Cons
Company lacks vertical growth opportunities.
