Pros
Its a high-achieving environment underpinned by team spirit
Cons
some operations are manual and quite demanding
Advice to Senior Management
more process automation needed
Pros
Full time permanent direct employees get a larger amount of compensation than might usually be expected. I wasn't one of these, but I did see many people satisfied. Co-workers, whilst disillusioned, are mostly pleasant people with a good work ethic.
Cons
Working as a temporary employee, I saw people let go without notice for "underperformance", without being spoken to beforehand. These decisions come from management that you don't ever meet and you never know who they are despite working in the same open plan office.
I wasn't a victim of the above, but being in close proximity to that sort of behaviour led to a disgraceful work atmosphere.
Advice to Senior Management
I would favour a more meritocratic approach to promotion to management level.
Pros
Pros of working for deliveries at royalmail are the early finnishes.
Get to meet a massive range of people from loads of backgrounds.
Cons
Unreasonable targets which you cant reach!
Advice to Senior Management
Remove ssaturdays from our week and save copious amounts of money!
Pros
Good pay, good location, good benefits package.
Cons
Too much politics and no work gets done - incompetent senior management, bad communications
Advice to Senior Management
Stop playing politics and do your jobs, communicate with your staff
Pros
good pay and benefits, our national postal service
Cons
Disrespectful senior managers, too much politics, incompetent senior management
Advice to Senior Management
Sack them all
Pros
Job flexibility and work life balance.
Cons
Constant reorganisations and closed salary reviews
Advice to Senior Management
Ensure processes - operational and personnel - are deployed before the next initiative
Pros
Relative security of employment at RM
Cons
Senior management cannot manage and are still reliant on whether the unions agree to any proposals
Advice to Senior Management
Make big changes and tell; the unions that they have to live in the real world
Pros
Working outside in good weather occasionally
Cons
bad pay very poor organisation
Advice to Senior Management
This company is the biggest mess to work for. They carried on paying me for 3 months after I had left despite notifying them. Then they turned around and asked for it all back and threatened me with legal action, implying it was my falult.
