I have been working at Ruckus Wireless

    Pros

Financially, this is a good company. Ruckus truly is the master of its own success or failure.
    - Salary is good.
    - Individually, everyone wants to contribute.

    Cons

    - No accountability in the company from top down.
    - Lack of communication. Employees though want to do their best, don't always know what that is.
    - Expectation that employees work all hours.
    - Too much self-congratulations.
    - No 401K matching and no increase in PTO, the benefits are below average for a public company.

I have been working at Ruckus Wireless full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Relies heavily on the individual's drive and skill set, but there is an amazing team of people behind you always willing to help. Real college-like atmosphere. Outside Sunnyvale the team is mostly home-office based or in tiny 1-2 person offices so it's very flexible. Company invests heavily in its people and is not afraid of hiring. A strong 'virtual' approach to doing business with a lot automation of internal processes.

    Cons

Need to be self-driven. Days could go by where you have no contact with your colleagues. At the same time, your workload can be very high and may exceed what you are used to especially in Europe, so you need to be ready to push-back (however the company will give you all the resources you need if they're justified). Expect a lot of travel which may sound exciting at first but will take its toll on your personal life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember that you are a GLOBAL company. Your upper management is way too US-focused and completely oblivious to the different priorities in other regions.

I have been working at Ruckus Wireless full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Very exciting place to work, never a dull moment (hence the name), company continues to grow and has become one of the established leaders in enterprise and carrier Wi-Fi markets. Product lineup continues to expand into new technology areas, with generally a friendly and collaborative environment internally.

    Cons

Company seems to sometimes bite off more than it can chew, perhaps too aggressive sometimes? Can be a bit chaotic at times internally given overall aggressive objectives and plans, so exciting if you like to be challenged but can be a bit overwhelming if you don't handle change well or aren't able to effectively multitask.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to do a better job of providing recognition for individual achievements and hitting the target on projects etc.
