A company only concerned with growing and adding new locations doesn't invest in pre existing locations.

I have been working at Russell Cellular full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company and it's culture has been extremely successful, but if it continues to neglect its already "developed" stores and continues to only invest in new locations it will fail. RC is struggling to adapt in a changing wireless market and as it becomes a bigger player in verizons retailers with higher metrics the stores and the management are no longer adequate. Problems arise consistently from inventory; the inventory system is nothing short of terrible. The tech at our stores (not including our pos tablets) are out of date and my manager had her pc replaced...only to have it be worse than her original one. The training received is ok for someone like myself who picks things up very quickly and has a fair amount of intellect, but for anyone else it is substantially below par. That can be said of everything at RC substantially below par. RC is the convenience verizon retail store people go to because it's either the only one by them or they're out and want a quick service. The pay for reps can almost be okay if you're at a very busy location, but still is far less than it should be and causes qualified employees to quickly turn over, like myself. I make more money now with better hours and less work. The work itself can be rewarding, but one mistake can cause the hugest of head aches and even if you have perfect NPS scores you always get customers that never give 10s. Possibly the worst experiences arise from the need to sell home solutions. Home solutions, except some tablets, are generally out dated technology. (Home phones, ellipsis tablets are garbage, jet packs easily replaced by mobile hotspot, and home internet that only gets up to 12 mps dl speed with a cap of 30 gbs of usage for 120! None of these are wise purchases if you know your options yet is our priority 1 to sell these above all else and find usefulness of these HS where there is very little. This company takes advantage of the old and tech illiterate. One of the most frustrating things also is how your district manager will go in and steal hours from you so you don't hit over time. You'll see 2 punchs both changing in and out times reducing your hours and this happens almost weekly. This is a stressful job especially if you have a poor performing store team. If you do well your coworkers are upset at you. If you do bad corporate is on you. It's a job i suppose, but if you're a self respecting individual with any amount of integrity look else where!

    Cons

The cons are laid out fairly well in my all inclusive pros section. Didn't feel the format would clarify as well as just writing it all out.

    Advice to Management

Fix issues listed in pros, fire district managers and store managers (you need new ones) realize you can be better than VZW by enhancing the customer experience and not making their same mistakes. Value reps more.

    Pros

The location I am in has no manager so its kind of nice when you don't have someone on you all the time butbits also a con. That's about it...

    Cons

No definite leadership, extremely low pay. Why are other employees at other retailers making 10 dollars an hour to start while we make minimum wage? Employees are expected to do managements job on minimum wage. All management does is tell you your quota and gripe about home solutions all day. When home solutions do not make you as much as the phones themselves. There's no incentive to sell tablets or home phone service... Also make sure you know how your store performs when it comes to traffic. I was told I could make 1000 dollars a month easily at this store and I'm lucky to make 80 a week. The store is on the edge of Verizon's service in the area and it kills us when we have to return phones or have a customer walk out because they live in this no service area. In short. This job was a waste of time. And one more thing since we don't have the customers I'm sure we will be fired and replaced by new people who will be fired just the same if they don't move this store. It's a cycle and there's no job security if your just a rep. Good luck if you choose this company to work for
