    Pros

    Pros

Great company. Good people. Reasonable pay. This was an outside sales position calling on primarily hardware stores.

    Cons

Depends on your Sales manager. Could be good. Could be bad. I was there almost 10 years and had three different managers. All of them were great.

    Advice to Management

Structure the compensation to really motivate salespersons to sell. This was really the only complaint from anyone that I was aware of.

    Pros

Great culture, great people to work alongside.

    Cons

If you like responding to 250 emails a day for really low pay, this company is for you!

    Advice to Management

This company is satisfied with recycling great employees with new ones, and then they wonder why productivity suffers. Pay your employees!

    Pros

Overall it's a solid organization with good people. Industry leading products and reputation.
They do some very nice things for employees and their families (ie: holiday parties & Breakfast with Santa)

    Cons

Upper management in the Industrial Group has no outside experience.

    Advice to Management

Need career path & succession planning in this division like they do in other areas of the company.

    Pros

Great benefits in all vectors. The company has all of the right tools and programming needed to get the job done.

    Cons

Unreal overtime demanded from April to September. Also the seniority basis for which vacation and other time is based means that you have to wait 10 or more years to get a long weekend off for a holiday because someone with more seniority already has them marked off. That was one of the main reasons I left. Also it matters who you went to high school with. An outsider will not get the chance to move up the same as someone who schooled with the boss / supervisor.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should look further into the past relationships of the middle management with the employee's

    Pros

Career advancement was excellent. I had the opportunity to move up the chain of command and was well respected throughout the entire process. Upper management was very knowledgeable in the activities necessary to stay competitive in this marketplace. Excellent job addressing first to market challenges and becoming a leader in new product introductions! Cabinet, countertop, deck products are magnificent!

    Cons

Like all companies long hours and weekends

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and continue to invest in the people. you've done a good job so far don't lose sight!

    Pros

Steady hours, decent wages, good benefits

    Cons

The demanding culture makes it hard for new people to excel at their position

    Advice to Management

Changes within the company need to be more detailed and thought through before moving forward, nothing gets truly completed because of the changes constantly occurring and none of the key people are kept in the loop.
