    I have been working at Ryan & Wetmore

    Pros

    The firm has a pretty good time off plan, Tax season hours are fairly low compared to industry standards.
    Most people are nice.

    Cons

    The firm lacks career paths, especially beyond the firm.
    The firm needs to redo the way they do their training.
    Technology is a bit outdated.
    Firm size is well below 20.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to the staff, Better planning of engagements

    Pros

    time off during the summer, really help in the development of staff, everyone including partners have an open door policy! you are able to ask questions, everyone is really helpful. Do not have to pay for medical or dental which is really nice.

    Cons

    tax season, communication during engagements could be better

    Pros

    R&W has lots of work, they can usually keep everyone busy. The partners also have a lot of skills they can pass on to you.

    Cons

    When in a time crunch it's really hard to get management to take the time with everyone. Sometimes they pick and choose.

    Advice to Management

    Communicate work sooner to newer employees even if they have other work to do, but make sure they have someone "mentoring" them and they know what they priority is. This should prevent the backlog that we see near deadlines.
