Toxic unstable company - closing stores - getting rid of all top pay people - bankruptcy 2 time

    G M (Former Employee)

Prosbenefits - can't think of anything else

Conslong long hours - stores greatly understaffed - very unstable in upper management - had 8 different supervisors in 11 years - no quality of life. Continually cutting labor to put a few more dollars on the bottom line, then expect to be able to take care of customers and keep the big stores clean. Not recommended at all.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore concerned about your people

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

The fundamentals of guest service are gone.

    Display Cook (Current Employee)
    Greenville, SC

ProsPay and benefits were not that bad although lower then the industry average.

ConsUpper Management has so much work to do, they walk around with blinders on refusing to admit that there are serious food safety and sanitation issues. Everyone runs around spastic only when the AD shows up. If you blow the whistle all managers know you will get black balled. Food safety is at risk very scary in Greenville SC. If a manager does try to fix it they get ran off for not agreeing.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe company has recipes and sanitation requirements for a reason. To protect the guest and employees from getting sick.. you should follow them instead of trying to RE-invent the system. Someone getting sick in no joking matter, all the employees already know if they eat the food they will get diareaha. Shame on you and your AD for allowing this to get this out of control.

It was an experience, good and mostly bad

    Hospitality Manager (Current Employee)
    Spartanburg, SC

ProsI gained skills as a leader and stayed committed to customer service and working hard. The training experience was great. I formed a lot of great working relationships with many wonderful people whom I still maintain friendships with.

ConsInsane customers, insane management, insane hours. Do it for the money and then run AY screaming. Awful company!

Advice to Senior ManagementRecognize teams for their efforts, not by adding to an already excessive workload. Treat them like people with lives

ProsFast paced, energetic and Just plain old fun

ConsLong hours as a manager, Open everyday including holidays

Advice to Senior ManagementGive the team more holiday time off, the money made on those holidays are lost in training of new employees that replace the ones you lose because they cannot work over the holidays

    Good money, bad job.

    Waitress (Current Employee)
    Hot Springs, AR

ProsThe money (servers only) is very good. I can't compete with it. If I made less, I would definitely be somewhere else though. It's a good place to go if you are ok with everyone knowing everything about you.

ConsManagement is by far the worst problem. Very little positive feedback. Incompetency to the fullest. The hot bars never have food on them and there are always so many complaints. Very silly rules that we have to follow as well.

Advice to Senior ManagementPut less effort into making things difficult for everyone, and start working on issues that really matter. Such as the rolls. Ice machines, and dishwashing machine. New uniforms. Tell people when you change their schedules. And bring back complimentary coffee. Taking that away really killed a lot of business. Also, to go cups are needed.
