    Pros

Relatively good pay and nice fringe benefits including a large fitness center and park, company resort, store, summer hours, and holiday shutdown.

    Cons

"Transformation". That is the word they used to describe their efforts to "improve sustainability". What that really meant was new leadership with the stomach to make deep cuts and outsource everything possible to save a buck instead of maintaining quality services. The work from those removed or leaving on their own trickles downhill to those that remain. Work/life balance is out the window along with morale. Don't be surprised when the people doing the cutting update their resumes saying they saved the company $(insert number here) then move on to another company to do the same thing. If you want to enjoy the fringe benefits for a while and pad your resume then knock yourself out, but beware of what you are walking into.

    Advice to Management

This was a great company to work for which translated into hard working and loyal employees. The need to do some alignment and improve efficiencies, including cutting some fat and dead weight, is understood. It's a business. But that could have been handled in such a way that many more valuable and loyal employees were retained. It really is too bad this path was chosen instead...

    Pros

"This We Believe" in the past guided the company for a long time.

    Cons

The new definitions for "This We Believe" are all functions should outsource to other countries, employee's royalty means nothing, and company profit is the ultimate goal.

    Advice to Management

Read "This We Believe" again and again; especially, those VPs/directors come from outside SCJ.

    Pros

salary, work life balance, great employee camaraderie, challenging work

    Cons

there was a change in management, which led to a change in culture. reorganization brought many SCJ people out of their jobs globally. most people who were left chose to leave. career growth was granted to external hires than to those who worked at SCJ for years.
