Cons
No innovation

No accountability
No appreciation for experiences outside of SCJ
Very relationship based - not productivity based
Very thick corporate politics and hidden agendas
Want "yes" people
No advancement - very flat structure
Advice to Senior Management
Take a good, hard look at your HR team. They don't have the vision or ability to support the business as they should. Very low expectations and action from the leadership team. Embrace personalities rather than those who work hard.
Pros
Work life balance, compensation, cost of living in adjacent area well below national average.
Cons
Location in Racine, leadership doesn't provide clear direction, too much general management, not enough marketing. Passive aggressive culture.
Pros
Strong brands, very disciplined business, very inclusive. The company enjoys very high retention because it truly walks the talk of being family company
Cons
The company is a great place to work for a reason.....it puts people first! The company does great work for the communities where they do business. They give back to brantford in a meaningful way.
Pros
Flexibility, Great Benefits, Great People
Cons
Increased Politics, Bureacratic Nonsense, Tight Control
Advice to Senior Management
Have more trust in your people. Most employees are very bright and competent. More decisions should be made outside of the boardroom
Pros
1. Good pay and benefits
2. Flexible management that is considerate of people needing to take time off for personal reasons (also a con because some people take advantage of this flexibility)
3. Good company reputation
4. Good experience, lots of training & development opportunities provided
5. Pretty laid back environment depending on to the department you're in
Cons
1. Company led by marketing decisions & rewards marketers for launching new products, even if there is plenty of evidence to prove the new products will likely fail
2. No sick policy - have seen some people really take advantage of the system
3. Like most companies, very political atmosphere - more about who you know and network with that leads to job promotions, not skills or capability... must have a very high tolerance to see this go on and want to stay here
4. Very passive aggressive organization - people avoid direct feedback. As much as management touts that they want to encourage direct feedback, they don't react well when they hear it
5. Lots of people "sneaking by" with their jobs (at least in sales), from an outsider perspective you wonder how some people got to the level they are at when they CLEARLY lack the skills and dedication to get there
Advice to Senior Management
I have seen several leaders in other functions that appear motivating, honest and appreciative. However, I do not feel like the leadership I am under portrays that same image, all I ever feel is that they want more, more more. The motivating feedback I get for doing a good job is not "Thanks! Great work!", instead it's "Keep it coming!!"
Pros
employee friendly, good benefits, atmosphere of trust and respect, nice colleagues, international environment, great opportunities to learn and experience cross-functional career moves
Cons
Senior leadership still to US cultur minded considering the international business and largest growth opportunities in developing countries, inconsistent promotion policy when it comes to the officer level
Advice to Senior Management
Develop executive leadership together with the global expansion of the business and allow more diverse leadership styles. Consider relocating some HQ functions outside US to drive diversity.
Pros
-A lot of opportunities to serve on cross functional teams.
-Great benefits
-Balanced work/life balance
-Supportive managers
-Very friendly place to work
-Cool products!!
-Awesome buildings/architecture
Cons
-Some unhappy employees
-Lack of communication between upper management and everyone else
-Takes a long time to implement change
-When something goes wrong, there is always a lot of finger pointing and blame instead of trying to pinpoint/fix the problem.
Pros
Company benefits include an employee park with a great childcare center, indoor pool, basketball courts, mutiple work out facilities, driving range, baseball, tennis the list goes on.
Cons
Located in Racine, WI the culture in manufacturing can be cliquey to those not born and bred in WI
