    Pros

I worked at one of their development offices outside of GA. At time is was the best of both worlds; working in a small independent group that was backed by a large company. Good access to training and new technology. Worked with a number of smart, driven people.

    Cons

Senior management decision making process was often unclear. Little unity or cohesiveness across geographic locations. Best practices dictated from central office with little or no collaboration.

    Pros

QUP was a great place to let you move up the ladder, till it was bought by S1

    Cons

S1 has you train your replacement, then give you 3 days notice of your layoff

    Doesn't Recommend

Former Employee - Senior Systems Administrator in Norcross, GA

    I worked at S1 full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great manager (in my case)
Place was well kept and enjoyable to spend the day in. Nice/comfortable furnishings. Cafeteria well stocked and cared for.
Excellent Salary; benefits not so great.
Lots of opportunities to work with bright people who were eager to fix what was broken or come up with new and innovative projects.
I was allowed to collaborate on a side project with others, saved the company lots of $$ and the whole thing went unnoticed.

    Cons

Politics in management getting in the way of work.
Decisions coming out of left field and obviously made more for "personal" advantage than company benefit.
You may not necessarily get recognition for your work but will get ding'd for any small error or what is perceived as such.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Fire yourself!
Some of the "higher ups" are somewhat obtuse preferring yelling and insults to constructive talk. "Disingenuous" can take a whole new meaning. Enforce some sort of quality program starting with the prohibition of insults.

I worked at S1 full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Friendly and helpful work environment.
Nice business to be in with potentially good revenue if implemented right.
Not bleeding edge but you can learn some cool things.

    Cons

It seems like with the acquisition by ACI, you are at the whim of a bean counter staff. Reorgs are common and your time at the company is dependent on M&A activity at that point and your luck.

No criticism, praise or any sort of feedback from management.

Difficulty dealing with data center folks and other employees who are in different locations around the country. Some can be rude and intransigent. Some strange processes are in place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your employees make your revenue, don't you forget that.

    Pros

The company provided great benefits and salary. The company was willing to spend money when needed. They are also very customer focused.

    Cons

S1 lacked true leadership and vision. While they were willing to spend money to get where they were wanting to go, they could never figure out where that was exactly.
