Pros
You are empowered to do your job
Cons
Micro Manager look for too many wrongs and not enough right. Tell employees the right way to do things in advance instead of waiting for them to make a mistake
Advice to Senior Management
Look for postive things and catch employees doing something right. I heard a lot of complaints that manager were always looking for something wrong and not enough right
Pros
Better wages, nice customers, nice managers,
Cons
Hours, hours , to much competition against the cashiers
Pros
Respect for the indivual is very important part of the culture and it is executed .Great work life balance.
Cons
Communication is not at it's best. Information is sometimes rolled out very late and senior leaders expect immediate results.
Pros
They have events that they show their appreciation towards their employees.
Some of the co-workers were really supportive.
Gives applicants with no experience in retail a chance.
Cons
Hard work did not seem appreciated as much as I was hoping for.
Limited job opportunities for advancement.
Asking for a day off requires at least a month in advancement.
Advice to Senior Management
Show a bit more appreciation for your employees personally.
Pros
Most of management is eager to cross-train associates. Understanding and reasonable flexible with scheduling. Competitive compensation and profit sharing program.
Cons
Some of management can be unprofessional and disrespectful.
Advice to Senior Management
Create cohesion of directives through enhanced intra-management communication.
Pros
Pay is good. Compared to the rest of the market I cannot complain about the rate that Sam's club pays.
Cons
Lost it's culture. I think overall everything is about hitting the bottom line. I feel that Sam Walton would not be happy of the way the company has went. This isn't because of the corporate office but rather from the district manager and below.
Pros
Associates - Benefits - compensation
Cons
Constant changes within programs before they have a chance to be successful
Pros
Money, a good work out, polite employee's, good prices on items, free membership, convienent online scheduling, lenient attendance policy, not too bad.
Cons
Having to sell the plus membership is absolutely ridiculous and asinine, forced to manipulate extra money out of confused consumers.
Pros
You can move up pretty fast if you put the work in. I have only been there for a few months now I am going into the MIT program.
Cons
The hours are not my favorite. Sometimes I have to be at work at 5am the day after a holiday.
Advice to Senior Management
Some management need to be stiffer on the store policy. Sometimes management just gives in to members. Members find loop holes to get over on Sam's Club.
Pros
Great benefits and potential for long term employment.
Cons
there's not many full time positions!
Advice to Senior Management
our Management is great. The store manager is probably one of the best out there...
Our store is ranked number 1 in the market, and with reason!
