Pros
SAP Canada (Vancouver) has great atmosphere and drive for innovation. Definitely great benefits for full-time employees, especially the SAP lunch program card at Yaletown restaurants!
Cons
Compared to other major software companies, SAP Canada (Vancouver) cannot compete in terms of employee basic salary. Recent years many people left because they get paid better elsewhere, and not helping is the high living cost & housing in Vancouver.
Advice to Senior Management
I believe SAP at Walldorf should invest more at the Vancouver office. Not only because our BusinessObjects products have saved SAP, but they should look how to better retain the employees.
Pros
Benefits; Compensation; Lots of knowledgeable and talented people; Good Training.
Cons
Promotions based on whom you know well, and relationships and not on merits of peoples performance
Advice to Senior Management
Managers need improvement on actually managing people effectively.
Pros
Great office, lots of ammenities
Cons
Salary is not very competitive in Canada compared to other areas in North America
Advice to Senior Management
Better salary and compensation
Pros
SAP has flexible hours with hard-working employees. Employees are very approachable, and are willing to help out each other.
Cons
It is a larger company, and thus you will not know everyone personally. On a positive note, since it is a large company there are many varied career opportunities.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work!
Pros
Opportunities to grow your career if you show initiative
Cons
Compensation could have been a little more competitive with industry standards
Pros
SAP is a good place to work in Canada. The acquisitions are being digested and things are getting back on track. I would say we have some great products and some missed but overall our products and services get a lot of respect.
Cons
What is bringing us down in Vancouver is the senior management. This director was fired from Sage for HR crap and ended up here and is now performing very questionable actions. And everyone knows it. Wont last but how come we dont hire good anymore?
The head currently stinks and so the whole body reeks but at least we have our products.
Advice to Senior Management
Dont bring down our reputation. One particular one should go sweep floors somewhere. Where is HR?
Pros
Abundance in talent and respectable individuals, a fun place to work, company is moving in the right direction with its on-demand and in memory technology
Cons
challenges in identifying a career roadmap and definition of position objectives, disparate sub-teams and groups which can deter progress as an organization
Advice to Senior Management
I believe SAP Canada is in good hands and has a vision to succeed. It will accomplish objectives necessary to sustain and excel in both performance and corporate cultural goals.
Pros
For those that can do a lot of study on-line, the information is there and available.
Cons
No one is going ot help you find the information you need for carrier advancement.
Pros
Food plan, nice location, free parking at night
Cons
Not that many open positions currently
Advice to Senior Management
open more positions to expand branch
Pros
the work is quite interesting
Cons
Like being a small fish in a big pond.
Advice to Senior Management
do more for employee retention
