Pros
I regard the integrity and loyalty of SAP as a company. I've seen a lot out there, and transparency and honesty in this industry is not always valued (anymore).
Cons
The enterprise software market moves at a glacial pace, please be aware of that. This is a problem for the entrepreneur, especially when being located in the Silicon Valley.
Advice to Senior Management
Identify and nurture your employees willing to take risk and explore new things.
Pros
Access to SAP's latest product release.
Cons
Very high level of office politics and very less opportunity to grow.
Highly unprofessional management team.
Never think of going again.
Never bother about you or your personal life.
Advice to Senior Management
Change the culture in company to make it employee friendly because remember you are also an employee of this company and the moment you need your company to support you, it will behave the same way as you behaved with your subordinates.
Pros
The people work very hard and long hours.
Good team work and multicultural.
Cons
Management team is made of very close friends or ex-colleagues.
The management style is very aggressive and intimidating. There is a laddish culture.
People are obsess with their job title... the result we have senior managers/ Directors/VPs with low skills.
That’s why I left…
Advice to Senior Management
Regime change but done in proper way...
Pros
The best things are the diversity of employees, benefits (including a decent free lunch) and work location in Palo Alto.
Cons
Most of the non-technical opportunities are at other locations such as Newtown Square, PA or the headquarters in Waldorf Germany.
Advice to Senior Management
The work facilities are being designed to encourage employees to work at home. This seems to be contrary to the efforts to encourage onsite interaction.
Pros
worldwide company, new technology, intelligent people
Cons
bureaucratic, no promotion, self-centric management, plenty of corporate fat cats (middle management nothing doing)
Advice to Senior Management
Support and commit with the talent people when calling them, not just political speeches.
Faster hiring, promote the talented people.
