    Pros

There's an on site gym. The office was newly renovated.

    Cons

It seems SAP Vancouver has implemented some sort performance management policy for developers where where the bottom 10-20% are given a package and shown the door. Of course management hasn't explained the policy to employees so everyone is left wondering, speculating and guessing. Management seems to want to crack the whip because the product isn't where they want it to be.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Abstracted thinking and formulating a vision is great but the lack of thinking of the working details may not make it feasible to achieve such great aspirations.

    Pros

The company has many different lines of business and encourages cross-pollination, and I saw many colleagues take on several roles before finding their sweet spot. Standout talent tends to get recognized, good processes for developing high potential employees. Recent focus on innovation has loosened the bureaucratic shackles somewhat.

    Cons

Revolving door in middle management makes execution a bit of a challenge. Many key positions seem to change on a yearly basis or worse. Overly long process for developing and rolling out comp plans, in some cases you wouldn't see them until 4-5 months into the year.

    Pros

good salary, benefits, incentive pay, optional stock purchase opportunities; opportunity for telecommuting, remote/home-based work; good professional development support; great cross-cultural exposure

    Cons

Inconsistent management to stated strategies & priorities, remote management difficult to navigate (ie cross-cultural disadvantage, time zone difficulties)

    - Great culture that focuses on development, teamwork, success of both the company and the customer.
    - Depending on your manager, there is a lot of opportunity to learn and expand your horizons
    - There are courses in-house for employees that make personal development a real option.

    Cons

Work life balance is encouraged, but some positions make it difficult to maintain
Yearly increases are not as high as they could be
Some positions it is hard to grow
    lots of overhead

    Advice to Management

Do better job of finding talent and helping people grow
