Pros
Personel Growth. Advancement opportunies, Recognition for job well done.
Cons
Too much look too few employees. Too many managers.
Advice to Senior Management
Instead of adding additional layers of management to somehow have the smae amount of people get more work done just add additional workforce.
Pros
-flexibility of management when it comes to approving personal time off
-ability to work remotely
-great team to work with
-training once a year (but based on budget)
-good # of personal time off per year
Cons
-local office is going down the hill; needs re-carpeting or wall paint (looks gloomy)
-no good salary increase (they always have an excuse why) as they focus more with the $50 - $75 visa card as a way to reward your best performance
-employees feel under appreciated as they do all the work but no return of appreciation
-business is really focused on customer care but not on their employees
-customer can dictate who can go and who can stay in the project (customer is always right)
-local management lacks leadership and will not support you when bad things happen: you are on your own and you will be hit under the bus and they will not care.
-managers don't trust their members; they only trust who they want to trust
-full of dishonest managers
-non-uniformity in some of the benefits that you get compared to what the corporate states when it comes to local managers that approve expenses, number of days working from home, etc.
-expensive health insurance
Advice to Senior Management
Your employees are the best assets you can have. Without them, Savvis and its business will definitely not survive. Happy employees means you get more happy customers.

Advice to Senior Management
People are the most important assets you have.
Pros
Income, money, employment, recession, provision
Cons
80 hours weeks expected as exempt, disrepectful management, yelling, disregarding previously scheduled out of office hour obligations repeatedly and consistently, regularly publicly humiliate - in front of clients, management and peers, force "fake" use of PTO, weekly threaten to fire or find someone else who can better meet stringent and unreasonable delivery expectations, etc. Cheap to the point of "penny-wise, pound foolish". Overcommitt resources as a methodolgy throughout various divisions and practices.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to Paull Hott's suggestions to select, create and grow exisitng management. Stop the rot from the top down.
Pros
This is a great organization and at my level you can really feel as though you are making a difference. Opinions are appreciated, and they allow for you to wok as needed to meet the objective.
Cons
Post acquisition still has some job security issues to resolve. Integration between the teams firms is not yet complete and that add some concern.
Pros
Work from home
Lots of independence
Cons
Work environment not very structured, so if you are not use to this, could be difficult.
Bonus plan based on installations
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work!
Pros
Four weeks vacation is their enticement, but it's a double edged sword!
Cons
Four weeks vacation but you never get to take. Work avg. 60 hrs a week & it's still not enough for mgmt - disrespect to employees are common here - morale is so bad - mgmt is promoted within & typically someone's buddy & of course they lack any professionalism or mgmt knowledge - hostile workplace - very unhealthy!
Advice to Senior Management
Hire professionals from outside & pray they stay any length of time.
Pros
Flexible work schedule, learning opportunities to increase your marketability.
Cons
No consideration of others time, consistently late/no show for scheduled meetings. Some management allowed to intimidate/bully staff. No accountability.
Advice to Senior Management
Talking about building a great team is useless unless there is follow-up and accountability. Treat all your people with respect.
Pros
- Interesting products
- Rare opportunity to work ina Tier 1 provider of internet services
Cons
- Since it has been acquired, there doesn't seem to be any point in working at this company. Most likely all employees either have to move to Alabama or take another job.
- Managers are horrible in people management. IT architects keep making mistakes and nobody cares. Too many silos.
- Product is good but the execution is very poor.
- The vast majority of quality people have already left the company.
Pros
Great employees that understands how a business should run
Cons
Poor management and leadership. Rewards and promotes bad behavior
