I have been working at SBE Entertainment Group full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great perks including meeting great people, networking, major discounts at the restaurants and nighlife

    Cons

The directors and executives clearly play favorites with the managers. Sometimes, it can feel juvenile. I felt like the managers who partied with the executives and sucked up to them definitely were given more opportunity than the ones who quietly worked hard at their job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Great parties and high end clientele. Auto-Grat works out well for staff

    Cons

Long hours for little pay, no commission or bonuses for management regardless of the size of the event.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Middle Management is the workhorse, it should be developed and coached not thrown to the wolves and used as target practice by HR for the over compensated service staff.

I have been working at SBE Entertainment Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It is a dynamic culture, with very intelligent, savvy, and trendy people! You have the opportunity to make a difference within a company because it is still growing and privately held.

    Cons

Communication can be a problem as the entire company doesn't always know what direction we are going in and so you can at times work in circles trying to get direction and clarity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improved communication with an employee intranet could be beneficial. Having social hours once a month to have departments interact that might not do so regularly to allow the continued synergy that SBE has had in the past.

    Pros

Awesome coworkers, great pay, flexible schedule

    Cons

Annoying atmosphere with drunk people, LATE hours, dealing with stupid promoters

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help employees with a career advancement in some way. There is always a glass ceiling when it comes to "nightlife" jobs.

I worked at SBE Entertainment Group full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The connections you will make are vast and will be valuable if you remain in LA or in any area the company is doing business. If you are interested in nightlife and hospitality this is the company you want to work for in LA.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive to other brands in this vertical. Their systems need more work and more development on the technology side.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to foster new sales and marketing staff to help build their presence and global footprint.

I worked at SBE Entertainment Group part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Cool people to work with. Great "family" style company since SBE owns so many venues.

    Cons

Management needs to be stronger. More engaged with employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management consider employees as the faces of your company. Perhaps hire managers that don't look at employees as just a number but rather a person, value their time and efforts.
