SBM wants to be a Service Provider, but actually a reseller for IBM, Cisco, Oracle and others....

Project Manager (Current Employee) Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)

ProsSBM has a good reputation as an IT service provider specially in Telecom and Banking industry. It has good pay system, policies and health benefits.

ConsSBM is too dependent on IBM, Cisco and other vendors on delivering projects. SBM lacks in-house skill and resource base to support large projects.

Advice to Senior ManagementSBM Management should concentrate more on building in-house delivery and services teams. Lacks on result oriented training and skill development, lacks employee growth programs within the company.

MANAGEMENT AND PERFORMANCE AND STAFF INTERELATIONSHIPS

    Executive (Current Employee) Bangalore (India)

ProsMore than anything, there exists a bondage between people and the Bank. And Bank is people. That is what matters.

ConsCompulsory promotion policy and promotional fast track essential.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe in touch with the staff members. Local people can get lot of money. DONOT relay on statistics. Have personalised relationships. Service will follow. Off shore banking, International banking, and Agricultural banking are to be neatly posited.

One Of the best companies, if they spend more on training

    WebSphere Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsSBM has a good reputation in the market, a good pay system and policies, good benefits, and good access to IBM resources (if you have enough communication skills).

ConsSBM lacks a clear career path, training plan for employees, and no clear policy for raise. transferring to another company if you decide to leave is not doable under normal circumstances.

Advice to Senior ManagementConcentrate on developing employees and provide enough training.
Make sure the employee knows how is he evaluated.
Make sure employee know his career path within SBM.
Well treat leaving employees and allow them to transfer to other employers.
