I have been working at SCC full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

This may not be a pro that appeals to all, but if your willing to seriously lick the rear of senior management. Work over time unpaid, catch other employees out(snitch), defraud customers for 'stats and figures gains', preferably come from a military position OR at least willing to work without pay rise (ever). Then you could potentially be in line to become a part of management or even promoted. You however must be corrupted and willing to be sent on a PJ (no names mentioned) crash course in how to become a corrupted manager and deceive as many people as possible.

    Cons

SCC managers are sent on crash course's on 'how to become a perfect manager'. These crash courses train managers on how to basically become corrupted (if they are not already). Managers find EVERY POSSIBLE WAY to deceive customers and what would class as FRAUD at the highest level outside of a working environment.

NO employee is happy only the 1% that have been promised amazing things if they do everything they tell them to do (a bit like the dodgy pyramid schemes that ask you for a sign up fee). These employees are as dummy as anything, they fall for it and end up in the position they were still at 5 years ago BUT entertaining many more tasks than their job role originally laid out in their contract.

What i am trying to say is, SCC MANAGEMENT CANNOT BE TRUSTED. ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS COMPANY AS IF THEY ARE RATS CHASING YOU DOWN A ALLY WAY READY TO KICK OFF THE PLAGUE. YES POKE THE RAT WITH A BARGE POLE UNTIL IT WHIMPERS AWAY. RUN LIKE FOREST GUMP UNTIL YOUR LEGS FALL OFF. DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO GET AWAY FROM THIS CRIMINAL GANG CULTURE AND DO NOT TURN BACK. DO NOT PASS GO. GO TO JAIL IF YOU MUST ANYTHING RATHER THAN BEING CAUGHT UP IN THIS CRIMINAL GANGLAND BLAME FINGER POINTING CULTURE.

Remember potential SCC employees, gangs are NOT a good thing and certainly ILLEGAL when entertaining illegal activity such what SPECIALIST COMPUTER CENTRES continue to do on a daily basis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I cannot advise this current SCC management. Because they do not take ideas on lightly. If you suggest a great idea you will be belittled and bullied as far into the sewers (where they live) as possible. They will only accept their own ideas and when they fail they will blame you. HAHAHA welcome to the merry go round of SCC.

I worked at SCC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good temporary job - as long as you hit your quarterly target you'll be good. Not great - good.

    Cons

Micro management pushed to its maximum

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

consider paying people for what they're worth instead of doing politics.

I worked at SCC full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I genuinely can't think of anything.

    Cons

I was employed to 'bring my experiences of over 25 years in the IT industry to SCC'.... I found very little desire from within the organisation to consider new ideas of a different way of doing things.
My experience was that when I was told to do something, I was expected to do it, without question. On one occasion, when I offered my line manager a different perspective, she told 'not to challenge' her.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust your employees. Give them the flexibility and the ability to do the job they are paid to do.
Consider the next generation of Senior management and board members. Carry on with the same board, and doing things the same way they've always been done, then you'll always get what you've always got !
Embrace change. Embrace new ideas. Empower your employees. Allow them to flourish and watch the business grow.

I worked at SCC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some lower level management is ok and the general staff are great people

    Cons

    - Illegal business deals
    - backhands
    - sales man are the only happy staff
    - HR always avoid paying money out if they can
    - agree to do impossible things (literally) to keep customer happy
    - send unskilled and un-trained staff into professional businesses and hope they swim not sink
    - no training
    - no knowledge

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look into things instead of putting them under the carpet

I worked at SCC as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

The technical (IT) staff are fun to work with and very good at their jobs.

    Cons

SCC do not value people..that is self evident with their 50% + annual churn rate (yes, believe it!). The working conditions are positively victorian (old, broken loos, smelly stale air, no light, ); all office furniture is old and broken, it is cramped and the IT equipment is a total joke. They do things on the cheap here; they pay the going rate, but the rest is just a short cut to profit and its the employees who suffer. I have heard numerous complaints about the way people are messed about by HR and management, its a shambles as they cannot retain staff. This company deserves to go to the wall. No flexibility at work here either, so if you have young kids, watch out. There's no WFH and they will squeeze overtime out of you and then you will struggle to get paid for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

What can I say; you have it so badly wrong. Get an independent assessment of the working conditions for staff and when they give it the title '3rd world sweatshop' then maybe its time to take note.

I worked at SCC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

None, but the pay is slightly higher than you will get elsewhere, but what they expect for that little extra is not worth it.

    Cons

12 hour days common, working away all week nationwide. no work life balance, SCC want work, work, work and offer no rewards or recognition

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees as people with respect and provide a recognition/reward scheme for exceptional employees

I worked at SCC for more than 8 years

    Pros

    ... you had a job ?

    Cons

Management have no idea in how to engage with thier employee, other than ruling by fear of being sacked (for going the extra mile), loose part of your pay to cover the cost of an item going missing when the courier (TNT) have lost the said item(s).

Being sent to jobs were you have had no training what so ever, just so that the SLA can be fudged as "engineer has attended". engineers manual out of date by 2+ years, so the password nolonger works and no one in SCC, ie CRM, knows who to call to get the correct password(s) other than "ask the customer".

Echo of comments made preivously of how bad it was working for SCC.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start a revolution and sack the Rigby family. Then and ONLY THEN, will SCC be at peace.
