Current Employee – been working at SCF Arizona
Pros – SCF has a great work/life balance. The management is competent and easy to work with. There are plenty of projects and the management knows how to time the deliverables so that the work is not overwhelming. The various teams are mostly easy to work with, are professional, and understand current priorities - great customer service.
Cons – Some departments are short staffed which can make things difficult especially when trying to complete projects. Sometimes network issues hamper deployment of projects.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue listening to your staff - you're doing a great job. Thanks for helping to maintain the work/life balance especially when there are difficult projects being worked on.

Former Employee – worked at SCF Arizona full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – competitive pay and benefits. Decent work hours and paid holidays. Great co-workers who try to cover each other's backs in a bad management work environment.
Cons – Unclear job descriptions and objectives. Working here is like trying to always hit a moving target. Management makes very bad business decisions and employees blamed for management failures.
Advice to Senior Management – take ownership of your failures, not just your successes. Reducing employees down to just merely "Doing as told" excessive micro-management is counter productive.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – SCF is a good company. Many of the employees were employed with SCF when it was know as the State Compensation Fund of Arizona, which was a state of Arizona employer. However, the company is now a private employer. However, many of the employees lack urgency and are resistant to change.
Cons – Low pay. Mandatory participation in the state retirement plan. Lack of opportunities. Limited to only one line of insurance. Poor training.
Advice to Senior Management – Training and development needs to be improve and provide hands-on training programs to employees. Additionally, employees need to be encourage to develop professionally.

Current Employee – been working at SCF Arizona
Pros – Good benefits, self-insured, great wellness program. Mostly happy people there.
Cons – Antiquated IT systems as well as purchasing procedures. Still has some of the 'old boys network' leftover from the 50s & 60s. You will do well if you are not a support person. These folks are not recognized for their contributions as they should be.
Advice to Senior Management – Take care of your support people...they are your backbone.
