    I worked at SCOR full-time

    Pros

The company wasn't bad to start with.

    Cons

    No chance of upward movement.

    Advice to Management

none come to my mind, it's not like they are "the paying attention to what people say" type.

    I worked at SCOR full-time

    Pros

Uptown location, great benefits, good co-workers, international organization

    Cons

Constant changing of priorities makes for a stressful work environment. Lack of communication between departments. Few advancement opportunities unless you're willing to be very political. High dependence on a few people which leads to low morale and inevitably high turnover

    Advice to Management

Start treating all employees better, not just management and actuarial staff.

I worked at SCOR full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Health benefits and some co-workers

    Cons

Management relies too heavily on a couple people in the department. The expectations for those people are far beyond what is attainable for those that actually perform, no expectations or reprecussions for those that don't perform. Mistakes are unforgivable unless you are one that not much is expected from. Long hours and too much work to do. Management has started to cuss if they were unable to leave when they wanted to and it was your fault. Kept employees there after midnight on New Year but management left to ring in new year leaving team in the office. Treatment of employees is not equal. If you like working where everyday is a struggle, you feel as if you are going to have a heart attack throughout the day every day, and you want no life outside of the company they might be for you.

    Advice to Management

Need to take a good hard look at how the employees are treated and why you are losing good people. Management you have now covers a lot up from top management. Stop believing the rumors from those that don't perform and start showing you care about those that do perform.

    Pros

Benefits, Co-workers and being at an international department

    Cons

unless you are an actuary there is no opportunity for advancement and you will be underpaid. Certain teams do not have skills management and are not forward thinkers. There is also a group of people in the Charlotte office that like to belittle co-workers in front of others.

    Advice to Management

Become forward thinkers, do believe that actuaries will solve all the business issues and remove bad managers.

I worked at SCOR full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many hard working, smart people. Opportunities for white males.

    Cons

Senior management lacks skills for employee and customer relationships. Focused on cutting jobs and expenses. Constant expectation to work more and more hours to get the increasing work done with fewer people. Inappropriate behavior by many senior leaders with no consequences. Financial results are not sustainable.

    Advice to Management

Employees are discouraged, exhausted and stressed out. Do something or continue to lose good people. There is impact to clients.

    Pros

    Great health benefits and coworkers

    Cons

Seems to restart management wise every 18 months and it is difficult to gain any traction/momentum because every new management team says they have the latest and greatest ideas

    Advice to Management

Employees appreciate stability and the continued staff shakeups disrupt morale and service to the customer

    Pros

Great benefits - they are a French company and understand taking care of employees is important. Lots of opportunity if you work hard although they are limited by Paris in terms of raises and promotions. Generous time off policy including 4 extra summer days off.

    Cons

Too many. CEO Kessler likes conflict and encourages turf wars among senior mgmt. Way too many mergers in last several years. US Life operations was very poorly run but they cleaned house in the last merger so perhaps much better now.

    Advice to Management

Allow US operations to hire, promote and give raises without months of red tape in Paris. Kessler needs to learn his pro-conflict method create stress and uncertainty all the way down the ranks. Bad method!
