Pros
Relaxed, forward-looking workplace, especially for new workers
Cons
Highly diversified makes it difficult to know where opportunities are
Advice to Senior Management
Good business model. would be nice to see where the opportunities are a bit easier.
Pros
Challenging work, interesting people and good benefits, with opportunities for advancement. People are rewarded based on contributions, not politics.
Most of the projects are well-defined and client-driven. The company is also very stable, and is a known presence in the financial services industry.
Cons
It can be hard to move from a technical role to a business leadership position.
Advice to Senior Management
Talk to the troops more about the firm's strategy.
Pros
Great benefits, great training ground for people out of the military -- The culture takes some getting used to
Cons
They have their model and it works for them...not alot of "out-of-the-box" thnking encouraged there.
Advice to Senior Management
everyone needs to feel like they can be heard without fearing the worse
Pros
Onsite Gym, open workplace, positive atmosphere, managment will for the most part listen to analyst and take their opinions seriously
Cons
Recognition could be better. Great place to start out of college and gain experience but probably not a great place to stay for a career
Advice to Senior Management
If SEI wants to stay competitive and keep good employees, they need to do a better job of compensating them compared to other companies
Pros
Open work environment, friendly people
Cons
Most jobs are in operations, which is extremely boring and tedious. No set career path.
Advice to Senior Management
Have a more defined way for employees to move up
Pros
Great place to start a career. Atmosphere is calm and laid back.
Cons
Most jobs are in operations. They can can be tedious and boring. Pay at the analyst level is low. Company has a flat structure so defining a career path can be a challange.
Pros
Work-life is well balanced. Management is very approachable, tons of transparency. Open atmosphere with no cubicles. Great cafeteria, gym, people are awesome. Great place to great your feet wet. Tuition reimbursement for most MBA programs.
Cons
Location, the pay is not industry average.
Advice to Senior Management
These guys know what their doing....
Pros
Employees are very friendly. It is a great work environment, unlike any other. There are no cubicles at all. The thought is to be open, about everything.
Cons
It is not very easy to transition to other areas of the company from the Operations Department.
If you are willing to deal with the sub-par salary then this place might be for you.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to work on giving entry level employees a better chance to "shine" and "excel". Career paths and some sort of direction would go a long way.
Pros
SEI offers a great work - life balance and management has always offered flexibility and new opportunities to me throughout my career.
Cons
SEI can be difficult to navigate because policies and advancement opportunities are often very informal and can differ based on your area.
Advice to Senior Management
Would suggest introducing more formality to some company-wide programs such as annual reviews. Would recommend Incentive Compensation truly have some relation to individual performance and things wthin the control of the individual.
Pros
the people are nice and the food is decent. there is a cafeteria on site and the buildings are pretty neat
Cons
most of senior management are salesmen and are not bright they just like to hear themselves talk and talk at their perpetual meetings
Advice to Senior Management
for younger people this is a good placeto start and learn how meetings are structured and how much a waste of time they are
