    I worked at SEI Investments

    Pros

Plenty of room for growth and opportunity, and the open environment encourages discussion. Great colleagues and overall positive environment to work in.

    Cons

Salary well below market average. One benefit is the ability to earn overtime, but simply raising salaries closer to the market average would encourage employees to stay.

I have been working at SEI Investments full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

SEI has an open environment which fosters collaboration between team members and also interdepartmentally. For the most part the employees are extremely dedicated and hard working.

    Cons

At times management can be less than forthcoming with sharing information which goes against the open environment policy and creates a heavy rumor mill environment.

I worked at SEI Investments full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

SEI does a lot to offer perks and convenience to employees, and is very open and team-based. The open organizational structure can be confusing at first, but allows for collaboration and partnership among employees from various teams. Good people work there and want to see the company succeed.

    Cons

As the company is 'flat,' there are fewer leadership positions available the farther you take you career with SEI, you have to consider 'lateral moves' to learn more, it is not a linear career path.

I worked at SEI Investments as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

I liked the open office setting. Each floor has different teams and there aren't any cubicles.
Great experience dealing with a high volume of clients.
Very easy to communicate with management.
There are a lot of company sponsored events such as happy hours, BBQ's basketball leagues, etc.

    Cons

Starting salary for a lot of the positions are very low.

Huge campus, getting from your desk to other offices and/or the cafeteria can be a good 5-10 minute walk.

Seemed difficult to move up within the company.

I have been working at SEI Investments full-time

    Pros

Some perks include stock repurchase program, 401K, cafeteria, gym, and tuition reimbursement.

    Cons

Started in IMS division after college and have regretted that decision ever since. Very difficult to move into new positions and the pay scale is pathetic. Management is well aware of turnover issues, but refuse to address it with more competitive pay. Majority of younger employees can't work from home and must stay in hotels during snowstorms. Don't work here and get stuck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate more with employees and share your expectations, so they can have opportunities to advance. Salary improvements would go a very long way.

I have been working at SEI Investments full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Great work/life balance.
    Decent opportunities for advancement.
Good place to start after college

    Cons

No real training process in place to ensure employee success.
    Below industry average pay.
No flexibility for analyst to work from home when most work can be done from anywhere.
    Extremely high turnover rate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay analyst more and the turnover rate will decrease tremendously.
Spend less company money on artwork.

    Pros

Easy place to work with good people. Great place to begin a career but that's about it.

    Cons

No upward Movement!!!! This place gives jobs to unqualified people who management is friends with!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more money to analysts to retain talent. I've seen many people leave who have succeeded at other companies.

I have been working at SEI Investments as an intern

    Pros

The people are friendly, but there is not much collaboration, so it doesn't add very much to the postion.

    Cons

If you want to learn something about finance, this is not the internship for you. I spent the summer making sure forms had name, address, phone number, and social security number on this. There is not collaboration or intellectual challenge. I did not get anything out of this internship whatsoever.
