    Pros

The people who work(ed) here are one of a kind, like a big family. People seemed to be hired for who they were and trained as necessary. (the way everyone should be doing it)

    Cons

Purchased by SHL and was left wondering what was happening for a good 2 years, then SHL got purchased and ow it is very corporate, very publicly held.

    Advice to Management

    Relax

  2. Antiquated ideas, no leadership, down hill from there

    Pros

Great travel, good pay, and nice offices in the US. Individual contributors really work hard to succeed, are freindly and cooporative.

    Cons

The "British" management was bad, but the CEB merger was down hill from there. The high water mark for CEB is the marginal performance of an good company.

" CEB is what the best companies do... they just are not one of those best companies... and they never will be. Senior leadership doesn't lead, mid management is inept, and the best people of the aquisitions have moved on.

Why the stockholders haven't deserted this dinosaur is a lesson in sells conmanship.

The objective is a billion dollars, but you cannot get by chasing away your customers.

    Advice to Management

Run your company, build organically, and focus on your customers. Your best assets are the people you drove away. What is left behind you need to fire for incompetence.

    Pros

I thought this to be a pro, but they push for personal development. Which is great, until they start pushing you in directions you don't want to be in.

    Cons

    *No Work-Life Balance
    *Incompetent line manager
    *Conflicting priorities
    *Below average pay
*They keep cutting down PTO for US employees

    Pros

Work life balance, very supportive manager, enjoy working with clients, work with other smart and talented professionals, work from home when needed.

    Cons

With each merger/acquisition, we continue to lose PTO/holiday, however SHL UK, retains many days off. Some of the senior leadership is incompetent, Product development is a sad joke, technology is primarily concerned with merging platforms rather than striving to be a best in class.

    Advice to Management

Your obsession with the bottom line is demotivating.

Smoking mirrors - company built through acquisition - was only focused on getting sold. Revenues are decreasing YOY.

    Pros

    Some good client logos
A few decent people in certain leadership roles

    Cons

CEB had no idea what they were buying here. No organic growth. Many customers are leaving due to poor service, but SHL only tracks them as a lost customer if their ENTIRE Spend is gone. For example - if an account used to spend $500k year and now spends $2k/year - that is not a lost account in their book. CEB did a very poor job of due diligence. What they would have realized is that SHL/PreVisor was a patchwork of two struggling companies looking to help their VC's get their money back.
Operates like a 20,000 employee company - limited collaboration. No new products.
Only 5-10% of sales reps hit their number. Very poor place to work.

    Advice to Management

Stop worrying about what looks good on paper and start taking care of your customers and employees - then good things will happen.

    Pros

Incredible products, great vision for the future of HR analytics
Amazing opportunities of growth through synergies with new Mother company, CEB.

    Cons

SHL has been bought by CEB when I was there. Great opportunity for the future but CEB is bringing its culture and its really hard to manage two very different sides.

    Advice to Management

Do not forget the smaller business units. The focus being 100% US, Europe is left alone and a lot of people are leaving.

    Pros

Professional and knowledgeable people, great for trainees or a good start for recent graduates with no experience. Lots of education and support for trainees.

    Cons

Slow innovation, lack of growth opportunities (at least within the Russian office). Difficult adaptation to the market, when marketing is restricted to translation of marketing materials sent from the headquarters.

    Advice to Management

Providing more training and growth opportunities would be bring better specialists, trainees, as far as I know, do not consider the Russian branch to be competitive. The company misses a lot of good graduates in Russia.
