    I worked at SIRS part-time

    Pros

relaxed dress code, easy work, friendly management.

    Cons

mind-numbing work, overly strict policies, frustrating work.

    Advice to Management

relax cell phone policy, take respondent & employee suggestions into account and make necessary changes to the survey process.

    Pros

They recently were bought by RDI and RDI has improved SIRS some what. We get raises now and didnt before, we get vacation pay and payed holidays..

    Cons

Team Leaders are under trained and they should promote more within the company instead of out side the company... They are quick to punish or suspend you for something, with out even giving you a warning first. But never reward you for doing good. The bath room stinks all the time and looks as if never cleaned. people wipe poop on the walls. They keep hiring to many under age kids and can not control them. This still goes on even after RDI bought SIRS

    Advice to Management

Do your job if you expect interviewers to be good at their jobs. Reward us for doing good .

  3. Worked here in high school. It meant extra money, but it's not a place I would ever consider for a career.

I worked at SIRS part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling Willing to hire students in high school Easy interview process Very relaxed dress code

    Cons

Weird hours (5-9:30) Most of the people you call assume that you're a telemarketer, so you get yelled at a lot Overall low morale among employees and high turnover rate

I worked at SIRS part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only benefit was they paid more than the average fast food place. Some of the supervisors above me were friendly.

    Cons

They did not appreciate their employees in any way shape or form. I worked there for two and a half years and was given only one raise. Everyone from my original training class was either promoted to a supervisor or had quit within the time. I asked for a promotion multiple times and their reasoning for not promoting me was because I was in high school. This was a blatant lie to my face because I went to school with 3 or 4 of my supervisors.

    Advice to Management

The only reason this company is in business is because of the people dialing the phones. If you don't treat them with respect then you will always have employee problems.

    Advice to Management

    Stop hiring low life people

    Pros

pretty good salary (start off with 8.50-9.50 hourly) flexible shifts dont have to dress up in business attire (except for training)

    Cons

late hours not much opportunity for time off unless you make up the hours point system (under certain conditions can be quite problematic) job makes you feel like a drone can be too strict on how to read surveys long story short if you cant stand people on the phone who are old, cranky, crazy, rude, hard of hearing, not happy to see you, curse you out not realizing you are simply doing your job. well.....DONT WORK THERE

    Pros

Flexible with schedules Friendly people Decent pay for entry level

    Cons

Does not acknowledge senority Monotonous job Skill deficiency in managment

    Advice to Management

Try to award employees based on years of service and performance rather then job title. Since there are no raises, find other ways to reward employees.

    Pros

they are very flexible, you actually get to pick your schudule and if you want to work morning or evening, most of the people are cool. the pay is amazing for what little work you actually do. its a about 1-2 dollars over minimum wage per hour. you can work as much as you want up to 40 hours, more if they are offering overtime.

    Cons

BORING. Dial numbers all day! you can't talk anymore or read, or do anything but dial, quota controls everything and helps to make it a bad place to work.

    Advice to Management

    stop outside promoting

  10. One of the worst places to work if you're over 18.

    Pros

Very flexible schedule if you're willing to work after 4pm during the week, very good for being a student. Better pay if you can work weekends. You can pick your own schedule and only required 4 shift a week, which means you could only work the two 10 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday and not have to work a day all week.

    Cons

Don't even think about getting sick if you don't have insurance or can't afford a doctor. You have to have a doctor's note to them that very day if you call in, otherwise they consider it job abandonment and you will be fired. Not much room for advancement, you have to be there at least a year to be considered for anything higher than just a dialer. You have to follow the rules blindly. When you get a call monitored, if you're not smiling during the survey as well as following the rules they give you in training, exactly as you're told, you get at least 5 points taken off. Don't even think about trying to hold up a conversation with the person on the other end, that gets you points taken off too. Also, you have to sit there as if you're in a prison cell. You can get sent home for talking to people or reading a book at your desk. You get automatically fired if you get caught on your phone at all. Most of the employees are under 18 and really immature. You have to be nice to the people you're asking to take the surveys, even though they can be beyond necessarily rude and abusive toward you. No benefits unless you get promoted to a monitor or above and you only get vacation time after a year and they aren't really willing to promote people. This is not a huge deal, but you have to sign in and out with a person to be able to use the bathroom.

    Advice to Management

Stop changing the rules every week. Also, please learn to be more flexible with call-ins. When you don't offer benefits to dialers and have pay that is barely enough to live on, you can't expect them to be able to provide you with a doctor's note every time they're sick.

  11. SIRS is flexible with personal schedules and advancement opportunties.

    Recommends

    Pros

SIRS is very flexible with college and high school students who may have extra cirricular activities. The people there are friendly and responsive to times of immediate change.

    Cons

Quota demand changes frequently, job is tedious. Management may ask employees to work extra days and stay longer hours if the quota demands it.

    Advice to Management

Be consistent in everything that you do and maintain a balanced work enviorment so that all employees are willing to commit to the demands of the company.
