Pros
Personal Time Off (PTO), SIRVA offers some of the lengthiest and most flexible PTO for new associates. After 1 year, every associate qualifies for 19 days per year. Just under 4 weeks!
Cons
Raises and cash compensation. Not enough support for flex time/work-from-home from management within my department. It's a stated policy, but in practice it seems difficult to do.
Advice to Senior Management
Honestly, I think that the senior leadership team is doing a tremenedous job in rebuilding/refocusing the business especially given the difficulties of the market at present.
Pros
Great co-workers
On-site gym and cafeteria
Cons
Company in decline
Very poor benefits package
Difficult to move up
Advice to Senior Management
Restore pride in empolyees and make us excited about being here again
Pros
Many talented people in the organization.
Cons
Removed from the NYSE, mismanagement, unstable environment.
Advice to Senior Management
Less politics, listen to employees, focus on the success of the company and not personal gain.
Pros
generous vacation package and good compensation. management is very laid back and dress is business casual. in the summers there is flex scheduling.
Cons
to move up in the company you have to be a relocation counselor, a salaried position that requires many hours.of overtime.
Advice to Senior Management
allow for associates to have flex scheduling year round, or telecommute twice a week if job performance is excellent.
Pros
High pay scale for those that only have a High School degree. if you have a degree this may be the place to come to have employment in the mean time to find that job you really want. Promotional opportunitites are very limited.
Cons
very little promotional options. Education level does not stand out as reason for higher pay or promotional opportunities. The only way to move up is if someone retires or dies. sad but true. the management here have been doing the same job for 20-30 years. And if you are new to the company dont offer any new ideas. The management will tell you that they are poor and then present them as their own to the executives as great ideas. and they get all the credit.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen more to your employees. They will give you a better point of view than the managers that have been around for years running the company into the ground. Obviously their ideas dont work.. why not get a fresh point of view from the ones that are in the trenches of the operation.
