Loved the people, the work, but hated the bad pay & the shift work

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Hamilton (New Zealand)

ProsWork Mates are the best at Skycity!

ConsBit of a gossip mill, pay was crap for the amount of work you do, and Duty Managers in particular do way to much for what they get paid. Shift work sucks when they keep switching you from early mornings to late nights on a monthly or weekly basis - messes with your life & body clock!

Advice to Senior ManagementIncrease the wages and salaries of everyone and you'll get better performances and more loyal employees - which will save money and make for a better environment in the long run.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    great place to work

Cocktail Waitress (Current Employee) Adelaide (Australia)

Prosfun enjoyable place to work, shift work great if youre studying. very flexble hours and good pay, excellent penalty rates for casuals. very good security as well.

ConsThe usual downsides associated with working at a bar or club, lots of drunk people, often loud and high pressure. however if you just have fun with it and don't take it too seriously or to heart then its great

Advice to Senior Managementmanagement needs to be more consistent across the board. For example, if you are going to tell off one of your staff for having a coffee behind the bar, then you shouldn't yourself have one 10 minutes later.
