I work because I have to.

Support (Current Employee)
Calgary, AB (Canada)

I have been working at SNC-Lavalin full-time for more than 3 years

ProsDecent pay, good benefits, easy bus route

ConsDysfunctional, too many doing the same things (duplication), no continuity, lack of support, training, direction. No assistance whatsoever from Management, HR, Union. Fragmented. High work load, high stress, quality of work irrelevant. Processes don't work. Favouritism. Talking the talk, but not walking the walk.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn who works for you and how to make them successful employees. Treat them as humans, not numbers.

Fair pay for a fair day

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Calgary, AB (Canada)

I worked at SNC-Lavalin

ProsThe compensation is good. They are a large company with opportunities around the world.

ConsThey dont give you a feeling of security. When the job is over you are cut loose and they begin the process of finding personel for the next job from scratch. This seems to waste time.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't let your talent slip away at the end of the project. A dedicated team should be working on placement. Locally and abroad. Leting you know what projects are coming up and giving current employees with a proven track record the inside track on the next project.
