Very good working there, however, lack of government contracts forced layoff of great employees.

    Pros

The type of work that you will do can be satisfying and rewarding. You serve government customers and that provides and opportunity to stretch your abilities, capabilities and learning capacity. You may also work in multiple offices and collaborate with a viriety of departments to accomplish your work. It is exciting when you submit a work product to conclusion and get an excellent result. The company has an excellent professiional development program.

    Cons

Sometimes the customers that you serve may be a challenge.

    Advice to Management

They are doing a good job.

    Pros

Starter company. Jumping board to more financially stable, technically astute, and professionally mature companies.

    Cons

Paranoid executive leadership lacks character, competence in personnel management, professional development. Skinned backs of engineers to get certifications.

    Advice to Management

Clean house. Trust employees. Be consistent and authentic. Build a real pipeline.

    Pros

Salary and bonus's were great. Office environment was very friendly.

    Cons

In my opinion senior leadership refused to listen to the advice of those around them. Their foothold into reality and changing markets was constantly eroding and as times got tough things got weird.

    Advice to Management

Sell your company to someone that can actually manage it. Retire.

    Pros

There is still a strong emphasis on value, veterans and taking care of employees.

    Cons

This company was one of the best small businesses imaginable, however in its quest to become a large business it has nearly destroyed everything that made it better than the rest. It lacks the business development experience necessary to do anything more than survive.

    Advice to Management

The company has been on a slow downward spiral for years, either hire some serious talent or sell the company.

    Pros

This organization supports veterans and you cant say anything bad about that.

    Cons

Overall, there is a lack of committment in this organization to a business model that will sustain the company long term. SNVC tends to be reactive, therefore changing business plans and organizational charts often. The CEO has placed people in leadership positions that for the most part do not have the level of experience necessary to complete the duties of their assigned roles and furthermore, those people he's assigned to key positions are within his "inner circle" so the power of influence outside of that circle is quite minimal for the rest of the leaders.

    Advice to Management

Commit to a business model and plan so that the employees can buy into it and have a greater understanding of the products and services that SNVC can and is trying to offer.

    Pros

SNVC takes very good care of it's employees related to salary, benefits, time off, bonus and incentive rewards. However, as a small business that specializes in information technology, the company relies on current government contracts and receipt of contracts from other companies that can no longer perform (for whatever reasons). There is an extreme challenge/lack of performance in acquiring new contracts by the contract managers.

    Cons

When longterm contracts expire, contract managers/specialists are unable to secure new contracts. Company is very good about temporarily holding on to those employees that are newly non-billable however the lack of new contracts forces them to relesae some very talented and loyal people.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the the lack of new contracting opportunities by the assigned contract managers or corporate development people.
