I worked at SOC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

the company had hard working, smart personnel working for it

    Cons

the hard working smart personnel are not in leadership positions and corporate doesn't seem to have any personnel like this, the State department runs everything for SOC because corporate is scared to say anything to them. instead of using money to keep the personnel that bend over backwards and help the company out, the corporate officers, cut pay, cut bonuses etc. corporate has excuses for everything and blames everyone else, they take no responsibility.

I worked at SOC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

nice location, easy commute off of Rt 28. A few of the longer lasting employees are nice, but most keep to themselves.

    Cons

in-fighting, micro managed, no clue as to how to manage a contract. Management in one building, away from the workers. high turnover in support arena due to "old boy network".

    Advice to Management

Understand the support system, not just the job.

I worked at SOC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, pay, and location for family life. The work place provides you the opportunity to study for college. It is up to the individual to take hold of this benefit. Also the pay is very suitable for providing for family life.

    Cons

Management difficulties and long hours in one place. Housing prices in the Los Alamos area very high. Commuting maybe necessary.

    Advice to Management

Better attention to formatted procedures and follow those procedures.
