I have been working at SOC (more than an year)

    Pros

    - Great pay
    - Plenty of time to do online college while you are at work

    Cons

    - Although most of my co-workers were great people, management lacked a lot
    - The promotion process is bases completely on "Time on Contract," this causes a lesser qualified individual to get promoted before others simply because the slipped through the cracks longer than others

I have been working at SOC full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is marginal for the location. We have a ton of very experienced/quality personnel. Job is fairly easy. accomodations have improved.

    Cons

SOC corporate high archy comes to visit but doesn't talk to the personnel doing the work and keeping the contract going for them. they also don't listen when we do speak with them. we are told they will get back with us and never do and do not take our recommendations and fix items. company changes pay rates at their whim, regardless of any LOAs we have signed for specific pay amounts. Corporate and the higher leadership on the ground seem unconcerned and dishonest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen to the personnel on the ground, not your stagnant PM/DPMO and other higher leadership that are just sucking up a big pay check, but don't care and or don't have a clue. relook/revamp you senior leaders on the ground.

I have been working at SOC as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

    Pay has been consistently deposited

    Cons

Rotations, Pay, Benefits change frequently with little notice
Expectation is that the employee is willing to forgo agreed upon conditions of employment because corporate or on the ground managers failed to plan
Environment is not conducive to performance and the focus is on support positions not the professionals that actually provide the client services

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trying to cut costs by reducing salaries of the operators is not going to attract quality individuals to the program
Plan and act with an emphases on the product and the service not administrating, remember that the administration is not the service the client is paying for and the individual in most cases is much more able to handle their own administration - look here to reduce cost
Attract and retain the right people in the right positions filling a key position quickly is less fiscally beneficial long term then filling a position with quality
