Pros – Core product is good. A lot of potential for product growth. Well received by customers
Cons – Management is enamored of outsourcing. Difficult to discern future career path. Some departments are disorganized.
Advice to Senior Management – Best practices should be extended to all divisions.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
Pros – SpatialInfo does some interesting work with some interesting clients. There are challenging technical and business questions that need to be dealt with on a daily basis. A developer here is rarely going to be working on the same old stuff everyday,
Cons – The product management process is completely broken. There are a lot of stories around customer's need, but they never seem to be the developmental priority. There is more time spent supporting personal projects or chasing new technology than actually trying to help solve customer problems.
Advice to Senior Management – Replace your broken product management process. Determine what the customers need and build that software. There are momentous flaws that are constantly overlooked because fixing it is hard. Bite the bullet.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
Pros – Co-workers are great and supportive
Cons – The US products have huge potential but are directed by a micro-manager that can't let anyone do their job.
Obsolutely no long term vision or direction, just a lot of panic around perceived "need."
Just bought by Synchronoss. Let the "Downsizing" and "Outsourcing" begin.
Advice to Senior Management – Impossible expectations and non-stop changes are never going to make a stable platform.
