I have been working at SRA International full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Open door policy at all levels of management. Management sincerely has a vested interest in employee longevity with the company. Which in turn created a great group of loyal and committed employees.

    Cons

Many benefits have been cut or taken away. Also, the way some well respected and loyal executive managers, who were instrumental in building SRA, were let go by the new executive management was plain wrong. Their actions showed no appreciation and in turn lost respect from the remaining employees.

The culture that was practiced from the original managers was showing gratitude for their employees, and the sentiment was returned. With new management came the swift cutting of benefits, and changes in employee communication that made it clear there is now a barrier between employees and executives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is ironic, SRA was a Fortune 100 company, for at least a 9 year span. After the slicing and dicing of benefits and how employees are viewed, a SRA questionnaire came out asking employees how they can make SRA one of the best companies to work for. I have no words of how to help management figure this one out. Hint: It was already a great company!

A good company to work for, until they decided that they needed to be acquired.

    Pros

Project team is extremely competent and professional (acquired from smaller company). Flexible schedules and liberal teleworking policy is very convenient.

    Cons

Ever changing benefit structure to minimize overhead is a royal pain. IT needs to figure out how to provide workstations that developers can use and not put so many restrictions on needed functionality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. Morale has been sinking due to all the benefit cuts recently.

    Pros

Open and inviting culture across the company, program and project teams. People always willing to help or support where they can contribute. It was a great experience. Company is respected among it's peers in the industry. Many people who leave return in the future.

    Cons

No glaring cons. Similar to other large systems integrators in the federal market, turbulence of of available positions to move to next project as contracts are won and lost.

I have been working at SRA International full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good mission driven work and the company truly values its clients.

    Cons

Top Management shows no clear direction for the company, benefits are being cut, jobs being lost and our strategy for growth is boxes, sqaures, triangles and circles on a chart with no clear direction as to how we sustain the business, win and grow. This place is not what it used to be and will never be the same as long as the current regime is running things.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I can't offer any. Just waiting to see when/if the company will be sold and to whom and at what cost. The management is in this for themselves. Large payouts to the CEO who clearly had no experience leading and growing a company like the great brand SRA used to be. Watching and waiting. The best leadership potential for this company is somewhere else.

    Pros

The grunt workers who have been with SRA since the beginning. Normal people, that are close to retirement that treat you well and with respect.

    Cons

Management is lousy, benefits are being cut, you are a number and a paycheck for the company, there hasn't been anything good to say about SRA for awhile.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management knows they can't do anything so why bother. They're crossing their fingers that they don't get cut as well. (And a bunch of them have been cut already)

    Pros

work / life balance, fexability, fellow employees support

    Cons

lost our way, budget cuts, have become a people mill.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People first work always; we’ve lost the values our founder Ernest instilled of looking out for our people. We were not a people mill which made this company great in the past.

I have been working at SRA International full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I get a paycheck. If you are lucky you support a good team with professional managers.

    Cons

The HR team reorganized in 2012 and 2013. The HR leaders use this opportunity to promote and keep employees they personally like. For both reorg, HRBPs (including new hires who are 2 months in the company) were asked to apply and interview if they are interested in staying. This left a bad taste and I'm looking to leave soon as I find another opportunity. I'm concerned applying for my job will be an annual event and if I become unpopular with the HR managers, I'm out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect your employees and stop the backstabbing. There's a reason HR has high turnover at the manager and employee level.

    Pros

Benefits and salary were very competitive with good training opportunities.

    Cons

I would still be working there if the contract had not run out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Opportunities for folks with 20+ years of TS SCI experience were not pursued internally unless hired into those positions
