Very good for someone trying to get experience with a major aerospace company. Opportunity to work on major projects

There wasn't a strong company culture (USA subsidiary). Difficult for long-term career advancement.

    Advice to Management

    Invest more in staff development.

I worked at ST Aerospace full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Stable job that allowed for a good work/life balance. We were allowed to come in early or stay late for some OT. They were also fair giving time off when needed. Two of the best bosses I have ever worked for were at this company; fair, patient, knowledgable, and could get the job done right. Very inspiring bosses to work for. Good pay too.

    Cons

Not all of the management was very good. You took the good with the bad. The bad ones played favorites and treated you poorly if not on their good side.

I have been working at ST Aerospace full-time

    Pros

Great place as an entry level, or someone needing to refresh their skills

    Cons

No wage scale, low end pay, last minute schedule change, and no loyalties among your supervisors.

    Advice to Management

Pay a couple of extra bucks, attract good mechanics. Leaving aircraft in project managers hands will be your downfall. If you need to make more money on the aircraft, bid them higher and eliminate trainees if your worried about the hours.

I worked at ST Aerospace full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits like share programme, U can earn a lot including OT's. Fellow colleagues very helpful. If you like to interact with people. This Job requires you to interact with customers of different industries.

    Cons

Leave entitlement only 11 days for newly joined staffs. Got no rest day during peak period. Bad Management level. If you cannot speak cantonese, then you better do not join this company. This company adopt HK working culture

    Advice to Management

Increase more headcount. Staffs not robots. They also have family to take care.

I have been working at ST Aerospace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you be a good boy/girl, know a little engineering and just stick around, you can do ok here. Live an average middle income life. Comfortable enough.

    Cons

Not for people who really wants to do real engineering. Managers cannot tell difference between difficulty of work. Only judge by effort(that they see) put in and magnificence of results. Many useless processes. Waste of time review meetings where the so called chief engineers and dept head spout utter rubbish questions(and not in a I'm curious kind of way but a find fault kind of way). Unwilling to invest in real R&D. I don't blame them but that's the way it is here.

    Advice to Management

This company is not a good company currently. But if you are management and making not bad money then I guess there is no incentive to do any big changes. No one can really affect any big change in this place. No one's at fault. May take another 20 years. May not happen.

I have been working at ST Aerospace full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A lot of hands-on engineering work. Not a 8-5.30pm pure office job. Good place to learn real engineering work.

    Cons

Plans keep changing, easily influenced by other organisations, unable to make own decisions. May impact personal life due to poor management planning. No accountability, engineers usually take the blame.

    Advice to Management

Too many middle management posts but do not contribute much to company. Must be able to make own decisions and stick by it, not to be easily influenced by other organisations.
