Pros – A steady paycheck if your job stays put.
Cons – Outsourcing at its worst. Management ustilizes the threat of loosing your position to its greatest advantsge. Senior management is very out of touch with the actual day-to-day functions of the network. The SLA's they agree to will cost them substantially.
Advice to Senior Management – Get your finger on the pulse of the operation so you can make informed decisions regarding your deliverables.

Pros – many opportunities for learning. Many scope to learn about wireless technologies and appreciate the forefront knowledge benefits long term gain.
Cons – too many re-org and disruptive to growth. Need to stabilies the company and stop middle management re-org where work efficiency can improve.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on core technology and try to lead the technology instead of following the technologies by competition. With all the IP owned, great products can be developed. USB and UWB technologies can be reinvent to meet new challenges

I worked at ST-NXP Wireless
Pros – A lot of promising work in mobile handset business. the policies are fairly flexible ( i would often come to office at 12 and no one would complain).
Cons – Total lack of future. No one seems to have a clue in what direction to head after the merger of 3 companies. lot of office politics and clashing management styles.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat the employees with respect. consider their future growth also. get a simple clear cut strategy and get rid of all trans national politics. do wats right.
