I was the point man for the Strattec Engineering department at the customers production facility, Mitsubishi in Normal,

Product Engineer (Current Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsI was given the responsibility to represent Strattec Engineering dept. on my own

ConsThe travel and being away from home Monday to Friday, some times longer.

Advice to Senior ManagementMitsubishi was not to be trusted, trust my client research

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Engineer (Former Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsCompany culture, engineering based manufacturing place, helpful employees, very good location, easy access to main roads and commute to Milwaukee.

ConsMid size company with large company organization, difficult to be recognized and promoted. Number of layers in mid and upper management makes difficult to obtain approvals for action.

It's a relaxed environment without any kind of competition because there is a lack of growth opportunity.

Accounts Payable (Current Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsEveryone is very nice including personable executives that interact with everyone.
If there is ever an opportunity that opens up, all of the employees are notified to give internal candidates the first opportunity to apply.

ConsThere is not much for growth since the business is in the auto industry.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide some sort of goals to create a more competitive atmosphere.

    Good pay but boring work

Finance Intern (Former Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsHigh hourly pay for interns which is great for college students. Get to work directly with managers and CFO. Learn quite a bit from simply interacting with managers and CFO. Can work pretty much as money hours as you want/can. You can decide your schedule.

ConsIf you don't like sports you won't have much to talk about since everyone in the office is obsessed with sports. Absolutely no feedback on how well you are doing unless you do something wrong in which case you are notified immediately. There is not much effort to get the interns involved in the company, you pretty much start working and are given loads of generic intern "tasks" to complete.

Advice to Senior ManagementImplement some type of intern events so interns can feel like a part of the company. Give feedback on how interns are doing. Show more appreciation of the interns since a lot of work the interns do other full time employees have no idea how to do.

Good place to start your career, but not for career advancement

Engineer (Current Employee) Ciudad Juárez (Mexico)

ProsGood place to learn about the automotive industry. Good place to start your career. Get to interact with upper management because it is a medium sized company. Environment is very relaxed and you are not made to stay after hours. Has a good quality system in place. Is a stable company and it is growing with new business.

ConsUpper management within manufacturing plant don't take things seriously. Poor leadership from plant manager. No grow opportunities whatsoever, specially if you are very good at what you do. In Mexico, pay is very bad - low salaries. People are not held accountable or forced to do a good job, so time and resources are mostly spent on fixing other people's screw ups. Upper management positions seem to be lifetime.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed better plant managers who do know about leadership

Great place to work 40 hours

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Prosgood people, good work/life balance, respect for employees

Consleadership a little too slow and steady

Advice to Senior Managementfocus on the big picture and leave details to management.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
