I have been working at SUNY Geneseo part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You interact with students, faculty and staff from different social, economic and cultural backgrounds. It's a refreshing location with lots of talent and opportunities.

    Cons

It's a small campus so for those people that enjoy larger campuses its not ideal.

    Good Experience

    I worked at SUNY Geneseo

    Pros

Wonderful work ethic. Everyone behaves professionally or at least tries a lot harder than most places

    Cons

Since there's a high turnover rate (as is the case with any college job), you never know who your coworkers are the next semester

  6.

    Easy work, easy pay.

    I worked at SUNY Geneseo

    Pros

If you've ever had a job in your life you will realize this is like the easiest job in the world. The people you work with are in general nice.

    Cons

The coworkers are, while nice, usually incredibly incompetent and full of complaints. Though this is due to the fact that half of the workers have never even swept a floor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Train employees!

  7.

A decent, convenient place to work for students with many different kinds of shifts available.

I worked at SUNY Geneseo part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Short shifts, flexibility, many opportunities to work additional shifts/hours, usually good relations with fellow student employees and non-student employees. As a student you are virtually guaranteed a position as long as you sign up very early in the semester.

    Cons

Food service is generally not thrilling or very rewarding. Depending on your shift you may not have everything you need to do your job properly, sometimes you are trained well for a shift, sometimes you aren't and have to figure it out as you go. Little emphasis on rules/regulations, which is a littler disturbing since we are preparing/serving food.

I have been working at SUNY Geneseo

    Pros

Great staff, welcoming and comfortable environment. Needs to be more focused on maintaining proper organization of tasks, and allowing for more positions for promotion.

    Cons

Not much going on in the Geneseo area. Although staff is nice, many seem to be bored with their jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show a little more spark, energy, and excitement. Don't be afraid to try new things and switch up traditions within the events.
