    Pros

The location is great - right along the Boise River and quick access to the Greenbelt. It's also really close to downtown Boise. The work is challenging and provides a continually opportunity to learn new things.

    Cons

The pay does not seem to be competitive with years of expereience and other corporate offices in the area. The continual discussion of head count and benefit reduction is unmotivating and tiring.

    Advice to Management

Please start treating your employees like assets that deserve the best.

    Pros

    employees are friendly
the Corporate Boise Home Office building

    Cons

Pay freeze for over 2 years
    tried to take 401k
    understaffed and over worked
    Highly stressful

    Advice to Management

The IT department is at throws with itself. Policies being indoctrinated are to the point of harassment. Being and outstanding team member for over the past 7 years, the IT Support has gone from FANTASTIC on every level of work to dreading each and every shift. I was harassed for using the facility for 15 minutes, by someone I have known for years, and Finally said if you cannot trust your own employees, then whats the point. And fire me......Everyone is treated this way. I am a casualty to the policy and the power struggle of the managers. In the last 8 months IT has lost over 100 years of knowledge. Ask anyone I worked with and they know they lost one of the best.

    Pros

Exciting, challenging with great pay and wonderful colleagues. If you embrace change and with all it brings, you'll fit in well.

    Cons

Shrinking margins have forced org to significantly reduce staff and cut costs at every corner. Unfortunately, this results in less productivity, creativity and growth for all. Not a great strategy to hang your hat on.

    Advice to Management

Settle in on a strategy and stick with it and remember that your people are you best assets.

    Pros

Supervalu is loyal to their employees in that they provide proper training, and have a "wellness" program with lower insurance premium incentives.

    Cons

Overall, Supervalu took on too much when they bought out grocery chains and tried to run both the distribution and retail side of groceries. Ultimately, they had to restructure which cause a lot of hard working folks to lose their jobs,

    Advice to Management

Now that they have restructured, hopefully, they will go back to the type of business in which they excel--management; stick to what you know.

    Pros

The people actually doing the work are goo, hard-working people who want SVU to be successful.

    Cons

The company has been in a pretty constant state of change since 2006. There have been multiple changes in leadership and in strategy.

    Pros

there were/are some good people that work there

    Cons

little opportunity for advancement, poor management, poor oversight by upper level management

    Advice to Management

look to your employees actually doing the job, there are many enthusiastic intelligent folks wasting away while you self congratulate yourselves at the top for strategies that don't make sense and aren't improving the situation for the company.
