    Pros

    - November 2014 employee satisfaction survey resulted in 80% staff participation--100% of staff was 'satisfied' or 'very-satisfied' with their overall work experience. 94% of staff indicated that 'Teamwork is positively impacting SWANA's performance.'
    - Great staff; collegial association atmosphere.
    - Opportunity to make of your role with this organization what you want to get out of it. Excellent first job for new graduates as well as mid- and director-level positions.
    - Pay IS commensurate with your performance. GREAT performers and team players ARE valued and recognized by managers. Annual increases are average to above average--for those who are dedicated and work hard.
    - Comp days for working annual events that fall over a weekend.
    - Monthly birthday celebrations as well as staff recognition program offering free lunches and accolades for recipients.

    Cons

    - Every staff has it's quirks and employees with unique work styles/personalities; SWANA is absolutely no different from any other organization. Current staff wear many hats, works hard, and plays well together. SWANA is not without hiccups but such incidents are episodic and senior management address issues as needed.
    - Multiple events in spring and large show in fall means long hours for many staff during the planning and promotion of these events but given the salary and support of senior management.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to reward and recognize GREAT performers and team players for their efforts.

    Pros

    Causal dress code
    -great for experience fresh out of college
    -minimal supervision
    -travel opportunities
    -flex schedule

    Cons

    -Management is not open to new ideas
    -no structure
    -no sense of professionalism
    -poor management
    -low salary
    -low work morale (almost everyone was looking for a way out while i was there)
    -high turnover rates

    Advice to Management

    Restructure management. Pay employees their worth instead of offering entry level salaries to experienced workers.

    - No organizational structure
    - Low Paying
    - High Turnover

    Advice to Management

    Value your staff and stop low balling. Also, please fix the organizational structure.

    Just graduated from college perfect place to get experience
    Travel to conferences
    Will give you any made up title you want

    Cons

    Upper Management needs total restructuring
    No support from Senior Management
    Internal structure does not support improvements to the business

    Restructure upper management completely and Value your employees.

    Pros

    High staff turnover can allow individuals a ton of experience and quick promotions
    The members of the association are very dedicated and assist tremendously

    Cons

    Executive level management needs to be completely restructured. Those that are currently in charge are resistant to change and allow unprofessional behavior by Senior Managers to go unaddressed. Good workers are constantly driven away by the toxic work environment.

    Address concerns raised by staff or leave the organization
