I have been working at SYKES Home full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Sykes at home offers a myriad of projects which allows an agent to change yearly to experience something new. The hours do allow for a good work life balance?

    Cons

Pay is low for both agent and ream lead not to mention the benefits are not full benefits. When the company states one in ten employee can get Medicaid for insurance you get an idea if the pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management is different per project and as such each of them acts different to employees. My suggestion would to make sure that all management learn the same motivational style of the Gaming Project.

I have been working at SYKES Home full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I can work from home and save money on gas. The pay is good, the benefits are great, and the company is 100% legitimate. Because of Sykes, I have a full time job that allows me to have time with my family! I never have to worry about missing work due to car trouble, bad weather, or accidentally missing my alarm. I walk a few steps from my bedroom into my office, and I am at work!

Also, I am a military spouse. The possibility of frequent moves is very real. So I love that I can take my job with me wherever I go and do not have to worry about causing financial strain on my family.

    Cons

I have yet to encounter any.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am very happy at the moment and have no advice to give.

I worked at SYKES Home full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Working from home, flexible schedules, great support from team leads and managers. Easy to move up as long as you are present, on time and your stats on point or exceeding requirements, ongoing training.

    Cons

Pay sucks, no raise in a normal amount of time (I.e. Every year, anniversary) You have to work 3000 hours to get just a 15 cent raise...took me almost two years to get it working full time 40 hours a week.

You pay for your background check $45 and are not reimbursed. A lot to pay for someone who may be unemployed.

You need a landline phone, who uses those anymore? Another added expense that you are not reimbursed for.

You need two headsets...one you can plug into the home phone and one that has a USB connection for training.

Training pay rate is your states minimum wage! Then once you start taking calls increases to $9. No one has made above that, even with experience. They don't negotiate. That's what I was told.

The ongoing trainings are good. But you won't be training on how to improve your current job, you'll be training to add more responsibility on top of the job you were originally hired for....for the same rate of pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show your employees you care about them. Starting with the pay rate...make it a REAL livable wage.

I have been working at SYKES Home part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Working from the comfort of my own home.

    Cons

Too little pay for the work requirements and time expected of you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The pay should be more. It’s barely above minimum wage and no one could attempt to decently live off of it.

    Pros

working from home is always a pro.
paid training lasted 6-7 weeks which really allowed me to gain confidence.

    Cons

i had a trainer that seemed to think she was dealing with children. she would tell us how she wanted us to be well behaved. there were a couple times when she lost her temper a little bit and started to talk down to the trainees. i found her attitude very offensive an appalling. you couldn't go one day without her belittling someone or forgetting that she was dealing with adults and not a group of children that needed her to shell out discipline.

I have been working at SYKES Home full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

My drive to work is just awesome. I have only had one accident (stubbed my toe on the couch). I have had a couple team leads and all very nice and supportive. You are always learning something new. The time off theory is interesting and is awesome, you can take the money or the time that is cool.

    Cons

The home health ins stinks. Have not looked at this upcoming years but last year was disappointed. Can be lonely in the office at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I hope the ins is better this year. You have a great team out there!
