I have been working at SYKES full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I work from home, and that's the best part. Most of the team leads and supervisors (on my program) are nice and helpful. They provide your computer to work on. My co-workers have are extremely helpful and we joke around a lot.

    Cons

The mentors can be very snappy and rude. The pay is okay for the work, but it really should be more, or more opportunities for raises. The training can be difficult to understand, or written in improper grammar to the point it doesn't really make sense. Policies change somewhat frequently, so just when you're used to one procedure, it changes up.

    Advice to Management

Better training modules, more recognition for great work, friendlier mentors.

    Pros

Several weeks of paid training is definitely a bonus! The beginning pay is pretty good with an opportunity for bonuses.

    Cons

I did not receive my pay increase within the time frame that I was initially advised it would take place.

    Advice to Management

Management could get a better understanding of what would make some of the calls flow better if they listened to the people that actually answer and respond to the phone calls.

I have been working at SYKES part-time

    Pros

It isn't a bad job, the pay could be better, but, if you are in need of work fast and have bills to pay, it is an excellent way to get your feet wet in the field of customer service!

    Cons

The pay rate is minimum wage in most instances, which is not very realistic when it comes down to make a living with such a bad economy. On the plus side, it is at home based so you do save on expenses.

    Advice to Management

Increase the pay rate! If you pay the employees more, starting out at least $12 hr, then I believe you'd have greater success as a company as a whole

    Cons

Th y expect unrealistic expectations when it comes to customer feedback.

I have been working at SYKES full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You work from home. Training lasts a month to give you tons of time to learn the material. Easy group interview and survey system. They have a bunch of programs so usually if you don't think you are a good fit for one they MAY be able to place you in another program. They have good set hours.

    Cons

They don't pay much at all. In training they pay you your states minimum wage. In my program after training they pay 9.15.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees a little more.
