    Pros

Good Pay, Benefits, Ok training, nice building

    Cons

Poor culture, bad management that uses sleezy management techniques and expect you to rip off customers by changing prices and changing numbers around. Heavy favoritism for women who drink and flirt with higher ups. Boys club. Favoritism that borders on discrimination. The team I was only treated the Latino members with respect and the other members tried to get rid of.

    Pros

Leadership: Recent changes to Sysco-LA's leadership has made all the difference in the world. We are now a leading (and growing!) Sysco company and break sales records monthly. New leadership has changed the culture for the positive.

    Cons

Technology: invest in up to date tech for the company.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!!!!!!

    Pros

Decent pay, but not worth the pain.

    Cons

Insane standard that requires you to work through breaks and lunches just to meet 100%.
Heavy unsafe conditions. They try to hide injures by pushing it off to a Personal injury, or allowing modified duty so the injured worker still showed up to work.( Less lost time injurys).

    Advice to Management

Put yourself in the shoes of a warehouse employee. Stop saying that we are lucky to have a job. What's the point of having a job if you have zero quality of life?

    Pros

The wages and benefits are great, you know your role and what's expected of you. It is a stable company with more growth potential.

    Cons

It is not a family friendly company, there is supposed to be an open door policy but that's not the case. H/R does not handle issues according to the harassment surveys they give out. Time off is only if it's convenient to the company. New President may be able to bring positive change.

    Advice to Management

Take time to understand personal issues your employees may be experiencing that may affect their performance before assuming they are bad employees. Try considering employees may need time to attend their children's events and not only management need that time. Stop Gossiping! The office is a like a morgue. Zombies just doing their duties.

    Pros

A lot of really great hard working tenured employees who want to bring there best and are focused on a job well done.

    Cons

Good thing Sysco provides good health and other benefits...you will need them especially the health benefits...they treat their employees not just as work horses but as plow horses.

    Advice to Management

Please show some healthy value for your employees. Honor their hard work and dedication with respect for their home and family life and especially their health. The work overloading is cruel and devastating to morale, health and a good employees natural drive to high performance. As blind as Sysco has become, once a leader in the industry on every scale, to their bad habits they don't realize how little respect they have in the industry and how sadly they have become the employer of last resort.

    Cons

To make a living you need to write high margins. Problem is the other large vendor out in the are will come in and under cut your price and usually get the business

    Advice to Management

come to the new world of business

    Pros

Lots of access to upper management, make changes based on feedback from street sales. Most reps are older, have been in the business for years. Lots of in house experience to draw from. Strong training.

    Cons

Sysco's core business will always be large institutional customers, restaurant groups, chains. Reps who capture this business will be successful, but sales cycles on this can be long. It's like selling insurance or any other commodity. They also struggle with pricing, as it's publicly traded sometimes "managing by the quarter" is in play, so for reps who want to make a quick buck, small accounts can be high turnover, low margin timesucks.
