I have been working at Sabre Industries full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Career Advancement Opportunities within department. Family environment, Friendly and helpful coworkers. Good pay and benefits. Challenging work and fast paced.

    Cons

Upper Management does not communicate effectively with lower level employees. Still a lot of the good ole boy mentality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More honest communication to lower level employees will improve morale even if the news is bad. People will work with you to overcome any obstacle if you are honest with them.

I have been working at Sabre Industries full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I consider the people that I work with to be family. I see a great future ahead for the company with the new leadership in the Bossier City Engineering Department. I love the work that I do. I am always challenged and always busy. That is exactly the kind of job that I enjoy.

    Cons

Salary for skilled professionals is well below industry standard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise pay levels to industry standard. Most workers will go where the money is. That means that we train people to do a good job ... and then they leave to do it for someone else. Only a few of us consider the people to be the most important factor.

I have been working at Sabre Industries full-time

    Pros

I enjoy the work environment. Everyone seems friendly and most in my department are willing to take the time to explain/train/teach processes.
I feel that compensation is about par for the location and industry.
Management seems to listen and take in opinions from the employees.
Benefits are competitive to others in the industry. Something that is a huge benefit is the onsite medical clinic. For both me and my spouse, the clinic is convenient.

    Cons

Aside from the typical personality differences that come with ANY job, not many things that I would consider as a con for Sabre Industries.

    Pros

Sabre is one of the leading in our industry and growing! I have had a great experience partnering with Sabre! I was promoted within 3 months and room to advance! Safety Department has made great advances in providing employees PPE and more knowledge to keep us safe! Better Benefits than most other companies in the current market! Sabre values its' employee with promotion, recognition and awards!

    Cons

Less space for Parking and muddy warehouse/plant when it rains.
High need of production resulting in a lot of overtime.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better flow of scheduling and production needs to be considered to provide a better work-life balance for employees.

    Pros

    Pay.
    Cheap insurance.
    Work isn't that hard.

    Cons

Unsafe, watched a pole roll off the turn buckle an almost crush an employee, an a over weighted chain snapped with a lucky when it was only a foot off the ground. Safety precautions for both were strictly enforced for approx 3 weeks until it slowed production down.
Anytime a lead, boss, or management, is talking they are lieing to you. They told us in may we would have a huge order an ot coming back in aug, informed at end of may they were shuting the doors of the plant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually talk to employees an ask them what is going on.

I worked at Sabre Industries full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The folks in the front office were nice and willing to help out alot. The recruiter was a nice lady and very helpful, did a lot to get me hired on. They had a bonus program but don't know if they still do that.

    Cons

Extremely dangerous. Injuries happened daily. I see someone died after I left and I'm honestly not surprised. Short breaks, long hours. No tools are provided, you have to check out your welding equipment daily from the tool locker which becomes very annoying very quickly. Wildly inefficient manufacturing process. No communication between leadership and labor of what the target production goals are or what needs to be done to achieve success. High turnover, so the quality of the product is very bad. Overall, just a pretty miserable place to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire a Lean Specialist and Improve your manufacturing process.

    Pros

Benefits were fair, pay was decent and coworkers were excellent.

    Cons

Its a good old boy company with that mind set. High rate of favoritism, some can make hundreds of mistakes and be forgiven others they fire for whatever catches their fancy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take into consideration your gender and race hiring practices in the office setting. Male and white dominated in management and higher up offices.
