I have been working at Safavieh LLC full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Safavieh is a company with a relaxed atmosphere that provides freedom to new employee's to blossom and work independently without much delegation of duties. It is a family oriented company that understands teamwork. Management does actively listen to employees that stress their concerns and does its best to provide the right amount of understanding. The good thing about Safavieh is that one can advance with the right amount of idea's, contributions and understanding.

The company is actively improving as it now provides dental, and vision coverage. Additionally, Safavieh is located within a good part of Long Island with immediate access to parking. Office culture at Safavieh is varied with many personalities who are quite vocale and display different "character" traits as some are quiet and other's are outspoken. The company primarily hires those for accounting, office administration, customer service, and logistical operations. Also, please don't listen to some of these other review's as they are full of bias and a little bit unfair.

    Cons

The company is undergoing active construction right now so the building is a bit unorganized. Additionally, employee's drive quite fast in the parking lot. A 401k with the standard 5% match could be offered, maybe an annual bonus/flex days. Additionally more vacation time would be fantastic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some of the company departments should be revamped/reorganized with appointed department heads that serve as managers and report to the owner's more directly. Also, the current lunch time schedule should be removed. Last, as a result of Safavieh being a family owned business their often exists division in the decision making process. The company should also properly define job titles/roles with an improved perspective and prompt employee's more often by providing an "annual" review that encompasses a raise.

    Pros

Easy on-boarding process. The employees are extremely helpful and easy to get along with.

    Cons

Too easy on-boarding. I worked for Safavieh for 3 weeks without ever filing any paperwork. What they offered me during my second interview was completely different then what they planned to offer me when I actually got the position. It was a sales job and originally I was planned base salary + commission at 6%. However, I ended up with draw salary + 2% commission. According to their regressions, they predicted that 2% would be enough because of the amount of traffic the store will eventually get.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The on-boarding process should be much more professional.

I worked at Safavieh LLC full-time

    Pros

For most employees it is local to where they live so the commute is fast and easy. The office culture is sort of laid back and sometimes unprofessional, although there are some very loyal and dedicated employees.

    Cons

Not much time off as in paid holidays. 2 weeks vacation and five sick days. Many departments are run by very young family so there are many mistakes made. There are not many perks and the bosses tend to be very condescending to heir staff

I have been working at Safavieh LLC full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The location is great. Plenty of nice people who are laid back, nice, friendly and supportive. Nice office park to take walks in, relax and take it easy.

    Cons

Owners have no regard for employees. There are no promotions as family get most good positions. The jobs are entry level and hourly pay is low. Health benefits are expensive, there is no vacation time that accrues, and no 401k. Owners do not work hard to retain employees; they come and go; office is also dirty.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees with more respect, pay market salaries and offer more in the way of benefits.

    Pros

Unlimited potential. Provided you with the resources to be as successful as you want to be. No micromanaging.

    Cons

There were verbal agreements made during the hiring process that were broken by Safavieh management 6 weeks in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create training programs. Don't be crooked with commission fees.

I have been working at Safavieh LLC full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I have been working at Safavieh for 2 years and it is a very nice family owned and operated business. great work environment with a lot of buzz over new projects and new deals. they are constantly bringing in new people and promoting their current staff.

    Cons

The office is a little bit small and because of all the expansion the space has gotten very tight. However, they are expanding the offices so it should be improving soon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should consider building a bigger kitchen.

I have been working at Safavieh LLC full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

+Great environment for entry-level work, and provides a wide variety of roles to applicants looking to get experience in a specific position.
+Friendly, casual environment and co-workers. Supervisors and account leads are often easy to talk to.
+Freedom is given to those who can get their work done properly, and more is given to whomever can produce better results.
+The company is growing in its industry, and there is room to establish a career for those who seek it.

    Cons

-There can be a noticeable disconnect with upper management, which can cause miscommunication.
-The company can focus more on enticing employees to make careers rather than see their position as a temporary option.
-The amount of benefits can use work (on paid holidays, health insurance coverage, etc.)
-Location may be awkward for potential employees without cars, although there is a shuttle that travels to the nearby train station.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Currently this company is often sought-after by fresh graduates who often don't plan on staying for more than 3 years- rather than focusing on seeking new talent, it may be more beneficial in the long run to give veteran employees more reasons to stay. It's a short-term cost for a long-term profit.
